Stayed here for a couple of days and found the rooms comfortable and ultra-modern, with glass-walled bathroom and comfy beds. Very expensive transport from airport, $50 USD, and $35 USD breakfasts. Good restaurants near hotel, Japanese in front and Chinese near back street. BUT, it's Casino draws the low life down and out'ers. Aggressive loud prostitutes roam the dirty streets right next to hotel.

I stayed in this hotel because I was in Manila on business and this time I had to be close to Malate. The hotel is good, service is excellent. The restaurants including buffet had great food - including a bbq. The rooms are large and I had a view of the bay which was nice. The downside of the hotel is that the area around is rather dodgy. Overall it is a good option to stay for business if you have to be in the area and do not have a strong preference for exploring restaurants outside of the hotel. If however you prefer to go out at night it is better to stay in Makati.
I have been in this hotel 10 times now. From the poorest service until quite OK I have seen everything but not a continuous good service.
Rooms are nice (standard hyatt room with flat screen, nice shower); breakfast is a bit expensive but the best so far seen in Manila. Staff is friendly but especially at the check-in sometimes not able to help on time. Staff is sometimes still “trying”. I recognized lots of discussion in the morning when guests check out.
The area is very dodgy (nightclubs, people begging, pick pockets etc. all variety of people sleeping on the street), you will see that also a couple of hotel guests utilize the services that are offered nearby. Sometimes this is very disgusting to see that and I recommend not going there with kids.
Club Level
The club is very nice although I recommend to book the buffet breakfast if you enough time in the morning. The Club offers a very nice view over Manila Bay.
1 advise: Turn on “Do not disturb” mode in the room and lock your door. In 8/10 times when I stayed there somebody knocked my door on weekends at 09:00 a.m. and wanted to check if I have laundry. I even heard that last time I was there in August.
If you work nearby or got something else to do the hotel is OK, there is heavy traffic in the morning. Makati is 30-45 minutes away. Nearby you will find a 7 Eleven and a big shopping mall.

Me and my filipino gf stayed here for 2 nights. And had no problem what so ever. For the price, you are getting the better end of the stick. This is by far the nicest hotel in manila. Anytime I am in manila, I will definately staff at this hotel.
We stayed here early june, arrived late and left early.
Made the most of the time we had, ordered late night massages which were amazing. ordered in room service, wine, prawns, club sandwhiches, chips, so so good.
the bed was so soft and comfy, the bathroom is amazing, and the shower we never wanted to get out of...
we had a late night drink downstairs watching the band, and tried to have a gamble at the casino, but didnt have any shoes to get in...
prices weren't the cheapest, but service was the best we had on our whole 3 week holiday touring around the philippines, dont expect the same service as this anywhere else you go as you will be dissapointed.
I've stayed in this hotel several times and its service and amenities are as good as when it first opened. The restaurants, particularly the buffet restaurant, are really good. I won't mind staying there again.
