Stayed there for one night. I arrived with a cab and enjoyed a good welcoming: an employer (Helen) checked that everything was ok with the driver and helped me with my luggage. At the reception I received a complimentary upgrade to a twin deluxe room on the new building attached. Room was ok, nicely decorated with tea and coffe facilities and two complimentary small bottles of water.TV had intl.channels and you also have free wifi. The room didn't have a special view, since it was facing a concrete wall. As someone pointed out there's a karaoke going on until 2.00 am. Room was quite noisy also because you could hear traffic in the street and people strolling around all the time outside the room. Add that I was called two times after 9 pm (I was sleeping after 20 hours travelling from Europe)for some problems with my reservation, it seems that the guy in the reception made a mistake and so I was asked to provide cc details even if I had paid a deposit..they sent a guy in my room to have those cc details at night, unbelievable.I also need to mention that water was not hot, just warm. Spa was out of order and gym closed, apparently. Breakfast was ok if you like filipino's food,if you like continental breakfast this is not the place for you. I had to go back I would choose another hotel.

Booked 5 nights in a superior double room, was upgraded on our 4th night to a deluxe twin room. Breakfast included in tariff.

Superior double room – clean and spacious room with wardrobe, suitcase stand, a desk with lots of drawers for storage, coffee-making facilities, a mini-bar and a big fridge. 2 complimentary bottles of water for the first day. Beds were comfortable with clean linen. Airconditioning excellent. Big bathroom with good water pressure.

The deluxe room – Similar facilities as the superior room except that it had a kitchenette (no utensils), bigger TV, the bathroom was half the size of the superior room and there was no baggage stand.

Pros: (1) Excellent service, every single staff member we came across smiled and greeted us. Requests were attended to promptly. (2) Complimentary newspaper every morning. (3) Good selection and adequate buffet breakfast. Breakfast consisted of 4-5 hot dishes which varied everyday; milk and cereal, toast and jam and a Pilipino corner with traditional Pilipino breakfast dishes. Coffee and tea were served by waitstaff. Orange or pineapple juice or water was available. There was also an omelette station for cook-to-order eggs and omelettes. Except for the orange juice which tasted like Tang (don’t expect freshly squeezed juice), overall food quality was very good. (4) Good security – we were notified of phone calls and visitors before they were allowed through. (5) Convenient location – eateries and convenience store close by; short walk to Robinsons Mall and supermarket.

Cons: (1) While in the deluxe room, loud music from the adjoining building could be heard from about 9pm until 2am which could be a problem for light sleepers. (2) No in-room safety deposit box. They are located behind the counter in reception. No privacy when accessing the contents as the box was placed on top of the reception counter in full view of other guests. (3) Lobby smelled heavily of cigarette smoke at night. (4) Breakfast vouchers had to be claimed from reception every single morning. (5) Limited parking outside the hotel but well-managed. (6) Some of the streets around the hotel were smelly and filthy. A few beggars around.

TIPS: (1) I booked through Agoda which turned out to be more expensive than booking directly through the hotel’s website. So shop around. (2) Lots of quality places to dine at Robinsons Mall but they open at 10am. If you are an early riser, the breakfast (6am-10am) at the hotel is a life saver. (3) If you don’t need a kitchenette, a superior room is more comfortable. (4) The hotel has a new wing if you wish to pay extra for the privilege. For the budget conscious, the old wing is good value. (5) We separated our cash into smaller amounts and placed them in separate envelopes in our room before placing them in the safety box at reception. Each day we just picked up an envelope for the day without having to count the cash in public. There are envelopes in the Guest Information Folder in the room.

After reservation , and taking the supreme exclusive room , there was a bit disappointment about the state of the room , everything was there .....only everything was old.
The view was a very interesting , a wall , and in the night a singing gecko .......no kidding.
the service of the house-keeping was excellent as the service of the front office.
Breakfast , sorry to say , very poor , two times i had a talk with the F&B manager , all food was cold , so salmonella could be invited to join the breakfast......I refused to use the service , with the change to get ill. for manila the room wasn't cheap ...... quality /money balance was not right or equal.............hope they will soon upgrade the hotel , nice staff and management ..food needs some attention , also food room service was good in taste , but as breakfast , cold.......

Room Tip: i already had the upgraded .........

After my 11th stay at this property, I think I'm qualified to a review.
Thanks for the improvements Lotus, of recent. Breakfast menu is improved, though slightly, & rooms are always clean, & comfortable for the Grand Deluxe if not my favorable one is not always available! I am impressed with most of the reception staff, though a little slow & repetitive formalities at times.. Congrats to my favorite bar & restaurant familiar faces, especially Vic. & co. where the provision of good food & effecient service consistantly awaits & calms me after a long day in Manila' s chaotic city.
Watch out around hotel surrounds - lots of dodgy villains ready to take advantage of you any way they can! Be on guard!

I was in this hotel for about the last 2 weeks of September. Front desk is helpful, free buffet breakfast is passable, rates are okay; but overall cleanliness may be lacking. A small mouse was darting in and out of my room. Not until I called housekeeping and we trapped the mouse did we get rid of the pest. The mouse might have been a reare occurence, but it bespeaks of management concern for guests.

Room Tip: I was given a room at the new wing addition, which was supposed to be a better room.
