We visited the San Diego exhibition, which showed many of the articles retrieved from a sunken galleon. There were lots of porcelain crockery and pots, bits of armour and sword handles that had not disintegrated.
There was also an exhibition of national living treasures, a video and visual display of Filipino culture, and the people who are trying to keep these cultures alive, by teaching young people, or writing it down.

I spent about an hour in this free museum and there are many gems inside! I am not a big fan of Filipino folk art but the exhibits are interesting to check out! I tempted to buy some cloth by the end of the visit but there is no museum shop?!

Ancient Philippine history is a spartan mosaic woefully incomplete and overwhelmingly curious. These exhibits demonstrate how little we know about our beginnings.

Rudimentary displays are rich with questions while their story leaves the imagination wide open with wonder.

I have spent afternoons alone here and love the place.

A great place to get familiar with the diverse and rich ethnological history of the Philippines. The museum is well organized, offers a lot of interesting exhibits.
Would recommend 3 hours if you dont want to just rush through.

Admission is free at the moment. You can get a cold drink from some traders outside the museum. Beware of the carriages, theyre a rip off.

It provides a good general overview of the people and culture of the Philippines. Plus it's free, central, quiet and has great AC.

I liked the exhibits of the musical instruments of the indigenous people.
