“Clean but crowded”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Lots of construction when we visited. There were establishments selling drinks and water. Lot of space where you can just seat with a group. I recommend the Chinese Garden there. It has good buildings and the entrance is low. Nice to take pictures inside. On the Japanese Garden, not so good but it has comfort rooms. Lot of lovers in the park and garden too.

“A must see in Manila”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

The Jose Rizal monument is a must see if you're staying in Manila. It is guarded by 2 military men who are standing on guard, rain or shine. Very impressive. The rectangular park is surrounded by other small gardens you can visit for a fee (10 pesos each). The park and gardens would need a little refreshment. It looks old and not well maintained though it was under renovations when I visited. Don't miss the giant Lapu-Lapu statue, another Filipino national hero, at the opposite of the Rizal's monument.

“Park for locals to enjoy a day off”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

We stayed in the Manila Hotel and the park was across the street. It was a nice day and we saw lots of local family enjoying a day's outing. We did not go into the Japanese and Chinese gardens, but from outside, it was hard to tell how well they were maintained. The neighboring areas can use some upgrading, as the wide street and areas toward the entrance of the Marine Park were totally wasted at this moment. If you have only a few days in Manila, it may not be worth spending time in there. The only part we liked were museums at the end of the Rizal Park.

“Nice place to visit”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

This is a nice park and very clean. They are currently doing some remodeling on some areas, but the park is very well maintained. I would suggest going in the evening. There is a nice fountain and light show after it is dark. It is a nice relaxing place to visit.

“Rizal Park and area”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The area is old looking, it needs livening and cleaning up, Not a lot to see, except the statue of Rizal, the small areas afforded to the maps of the area, could do with repainting, the gardens do seem some what dilapidated, as for the litter lying around with the local people who live in the park, makes you wary of possible trouble. I would not buy street food from here, I have suffered very badly in the past from severe stomach pains. Buying cold water in bottles, make sure the seal is intact, as it has been known for these to be sold with tap water.
