“Nice place to visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

This is a nice park and very clean. They are currently doing some remodeling on some areas, but the park is very well maintained. I would suggest going in the evening. There is a nice fountain and light show after it is dark. It is a nice relaxing place to visit.

“Rizal Park and area”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

The area is old looking, it needs livening and cleaning up, Not a lot to see, except the statue of Rizal, the small areas afforded to the maps of the area, could do with repainting, the gardens do seem some what dilapidated, as for the litter lying around with the local people who live in the park, makes you wary of possible trouble. I would not buy street food from here, I have suffered very badly in the past from severe stomach pains. Buying cold water in bottles, make sure the seal is intact, as it has been known for these to be sold with tap water.

“Jose' Rizal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

I spent 8 days in Manila and since the park was a couple of blocks from my hotel I decided to visit the park in hopes of taking some photos. The day we were there the sun was shining, some people were resting, enjoying the day, and the monument to Dr. Rizal, in about 1896, led a revolt against Spain. He was arrested and executed by the Spanish.

The monument is guarded by two splendid looking Filipino military men, similar to the guards at the Chaing Kai-Shek memorial in Taiwan.

The park was not exciting and offered very few photographic opportunities of note. If one has a few hours to relax, visit the park There are a couple of very tasty eateries there. The park was litter free. The public restrooms require a tip to a guy who appeared to be a latrine orderly.

“A park”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

a plain park, its relaxing i like it, but its not pretty and completely lacks charm.... holds very little value and is poorly maintained, as a city park they should've done alot more than this and the fact that trash are littered around the park is another minus to my review.... but if you do go to intramuros this is one of the place to get away from all the terrible congestion the city have..
