As yo go into the hotel, security is like going through airport security with scanners and all. Which I do not mind.
As you view the lobby, it has this very vintage, cozy feel to it. You can still sense that old world charm which is very nice. This charm extends to my room (stayed on the 13th floor), which is very clean. My room has all this wood finishes imposes the "old world" appeal. The view of my room is the Intramuros and the Manila skyline on the east side, where I get the sunrise. Am like, wow. This hotel, in terms of its charm, holds up to its name. To me, it is waaayyy nicer compared to other 5 star hotels in Manila, Makati, Ortigas.
Buffet breakfast has really good selection, mostly Filipino, i saw some Korean, and continental as well.
Since its across the street from Intramuros, its walking distance to historic Luneta.
Behind the hotel is 7-11, not a pretty side walking outside hotel property but you see security here and there, so all is good.
