Stunning hotel in a good location by Rizal Park, Ocean Park, Intramuros and Robinsons Place Mall. Check in smooth, reception staff dealt with any questions well. The hotel excudes first class luxury from the magnificent lobby to the swimming pool.

Given a club room it was of a good size, mine had a nice view of manila port and ocean park. The bed comfortable with sitting area and a large tv, and I liked the bathroom which had a large walk in shower, separate large bath with a tv to watch as you relax. Mini bar, fridge, tea and coffee and a iron and ironing board also provided.

Breakfast served in a lovely large room which provided a relaxed, non crowded environment, enjoyable to be in had all you could possibly wish for whatever your taste in foods.

I look forward to staying at this hotel again it had all I could wish for and more.

This is a hotel with its own special "colonial" character. The welcome is warm and professional. The room has this special Filipino colonial touch, with local furniture and all the details taken care of. The bathroom is impressive with huge shower cabin, bath tub and flatscreen television. Everything was perfect and in perfect condition.
The Champagne Room restaurant was excellent and the service just as professional as you would expect from such a place. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the buffet restaurant and the Chinese restaurant. Eventhough both places were half-empty when I went there, the waiters were taking it very easy and at times completely forgot you.
One could wish that the access to the lobby was a little more restricted. At times the beautiful lobby appears more like a central station (with all the on-lookers from outside) than a place where you would like to sit and enjoy a drink.
But still, compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Manila, Manila Hotel is still the best place to stay.

What strikes you the moment you enter the lobby of the Manila Hotel is the fact that you're getting instant value for money. Why? Simple. You're there for a night's stay, true but before you even check in you stop and look in awe at the simply amazing piece of history you've seen that day. The entrance hall. Yes, that's right the entrance hall. Just stand and take in the ambience for a few minutes. Believe you are standing where history took place, lives were changed forever and futures were mapped out. Having done that check in and begin, not just a hotel stay, but an experience. There is so much lavishness here it's quite breathtaking at times. The highlight of the stay had to be the Champagne Room. Here you will find what I would argue is one of the best French restaurants I've had the privilege to experience and I've eaten in many. Just the correct amount of (highly trained) attention without being intrusive. The food was utterly mouth watering. Four of us had different dishes and each of us agreed that the standard was fabulous. Not one single item was undercooked, over cooked, disappointing or left you with the feeling that you were over paying for the quality. Quite the opposite. An amazing feast that left us all satiated by the culinary experience at a very reasonable cost. A note has to be made about the piano player that accompanied our meal. He is excellent. "That's a good thing adds to the ambience" I hear you say. True but it made me want to go home and smash up my keyboard. I'll never be that good. So to the downside and there is one. The pool and gym is quite difficult and confusing to use. The pool is outside the gym, sauna, jacuzzi and steam rooms are inside. Nothing prepares you for this and it leaves you wandering about trying to lead yourself through a maze of corridors, steps and separate areas. Don't get me wrong the facilities are good but perhaps a 'Guide for using our recreational facilities' might at least forewarn one. This could just be a simple walk through for new comers that explains how the process works, where towels can be collected, a suggested order in which to use the facilities etc. Enough said, apart from the recreational facilities everything was amazing. Oh and miss breakfast at your peril. Another culinary experience you must try.

Nice high quality hotel, with plenty of character and shear opulance, but dont expect to relax there!
Pool area is like a night club playing loud rock music all day and into the night. Definatly not a place to relax.
Also excessive charge if you want to bring guests to pool...P800 for a child over 12 years!!!
For this reason cant recomend, and better hotels exist in area, such as Pan Pacific. Much better managed.

Room Tip: Higher the better on bay side to avoide noise from pool If you see a US Navy ship in port check out as soon as possible as they take over the hotel and ruin the experience

I'm one very disappointed visitor having endured a long flight, and finally having the chance to see and experience this place left me literally mortified. Being a national landmark, this place lacks luster big time.

Security was tight, even bags are x-rayed and monitored. Lobby is nice. Service is poor, actually no customer service at all! Do all that work here government employees? Because that's what I felt! No hi's no hello's, even agent offered no smile at all and wasn't listening.

Elevator is downtrodden with dust, hallway is dark and my room dingy. Bed runners were kept under the TV, stains on the sheets, hair all over the place, bathroom was leaking, shower nobs loose, mirrors were spotted with stains etc...

I did not sleep at all! How embarrassing! I'm one nice reviewer here, and by no means take things personally but come'on this place is a horror!

Sorry, this place ranks the worst hotel I've been to. Underserving of 5 stars, actually 2 stars ;(
