I stayed at the Sofitel Plaza hotel when attending a conference at the Philippine International Conference and Convention Centre. Very convenient and only a few minutes walk to the PICC. The hotel is spacious and must have been very impressive when it was built but in need of upgrading and renovating.

The tariff was very reasonable and service was excellent and staff were very friendly which is the case in most hotels in the Philippines.

The best prt of this hotel was the superb, expansive restaurant on lower ground floor! The range at breakfast was absolutely superb and probably the widest range out of any hotell that I've seen. This is the first time I've ever seen a cheese room in a restaurant! But it was expensive at 1700 PNP

I also had the buffet dinner at the same restaurant and again, my compliments to the chef for the very wide range of well-prepared and presented food. A little on the expensive side but well-worth trying.

I originally booked on Expedia and I continue to find it odd that hotels depend on nbookings form these third-party websites but when you arrive at the hotels, the feeling that you're treated like a second-class guest is pervasive.

For the price, a very good value five-star hotel.

Got 2 rooms for a night with my family. Arrived at the hotel at 14:00 Hrs but the requested rooms will only be ready till after 2 hours. Requested for adjoining rooms in upper floors but gave us rooms in 2 different floors which a great inconvenience for us. Front desk gave us the key cards after checking in & that's it. They didn't even offer to take out luggage to the rooms. The electronic safe was not working so have to call room service to have it fixed. The hotel is old & in need of refurbishment. Construction at the pool area is not even enclosed at man height level to separate the patrons from the construction crew. Parking ticket needs validation at the concierge to avail the free parking. Validation could have been done at the hotel's entrance from the parking side which is nearer. Rain shower is very nice though with a higher than usual water flow & pressure. I can say that it is an overrated hotel at 5 stars.
