Good: Service. Staff was extremely helpful, especially wait staff. Nice pool. Nice view over the bay and pleasant ambiance for being in the middle of Manila.
Bad: Excessive security, searching all vehicles entering driveway, searching guests bags, making guests walk through metal detectors. Need to enter your room key into a slot just to take the elevator to your floor. Expensive, expect to pay full western prices for room, food, beverages and any conveniences (internet, etc.). Unnecessary "greeters" in lobby and elevators whose sole function seems to be to say hello or press the up button for you. Paying someone to say "Good day sir" after being searched does little to make one feel "welcomed" just adds to the cost.
There are so many gracious hotels in the Philippines that treat their guests like guests and not potential criminals and charge reasonable rates for rooms, services and food, that there is little reason to stay here. I'll give it a miss on my next trip.
My room smelled of smoke, though I asked for it because they had no nonsmoking rooms with a view of the pool and bay.
No complimentary breakfast...in fact it cost $30! Most hotels in the Philippines include breakfast with your room. The higher quality ones put on a very nice buffet with fruits and various Filippino and western foods.More
