“Astounding Ambiance in a Plightful City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

Manila, in general, is a busy, polluted and messy city. Finding a place like this is close to impossible. 9 spoons restaurant has the best food and ambiance. However what I love about the place is the Sky Deck View Bar. Especially on a cold night, having a beer absolutely scratches your stress away. Not to mention you get even more amazed by the view around. Very conducive for unwinding. The place can immensely cater a good service esp. For occasions. Most of all, it stands in the heart of the old city called Intramuros, which i think is the best location in manila.
Service of the staff and management is impeccably wonderful and impressive.
A must-see place in Manila, it is. Cheers!

Stayed 2 nights in the Bayleaf during our recent visit in the Philippines. As a first time visitor in this city, we liked to base ourselves within historic Intramuros and Bayleaf was a natural choice.

It is located on the eastern side of Intramuros about 10 minutes easy walk from the nearest LRT Station, Central Terminus which we used it during the day to beat the traffic jams. There is a 7 Eleven convenient store and a Mcdonalds within the grounds of the hotel. What is lacking is probably a supermarket within the vicinity.

We were warmly greeted by the staffs of Intramuros as soon as we arrived at the bright and spacious lobby. Jenny, who handled our check-in was professional and helpful. Upon learning that we were first-time visitors, she handed us a walking map of Intramuros highlighting all the key sites in a perfect smile. She was approachable and welcomed us to come back to her if we had more questions during our stay.

We were given room 715. The modern room commanded a great view of the golf course overlooking the skyline of Manila. Our bed was very comfortable and all the modern comforts worked well - TV, safe and air-conditioning. We liked the rainshower feature in our spacious bathroom but unfortunately, the water pressure wasn't strong for us to utilise it. This aside, we were generally very happy with our room.

Also worth mentioning were the helpfulness of the concierge staffs which in my opinion were the best I have met in my travels. It was raining on our first evening when we decided to head to Robinsons Place for dinner. On learning that we had been waiting for a while for our taxi, one of the guys actually went out in the rain to help us find one. Eventually, we boarded another taxi that came by and didn't had the opportunity to thank him personally. We also didn't manage to note down his name. We just liked to thank him over here for going the extra mile in customer service.

In my opinion, Jenny and the conierge team are the kind of staffs that the hotel management should be extremely proud with!

Breakfast was complimentary and it was delicious with a good mix of local and western favourites. The grounded coffee was amazing. It was prepared right on the spot after we had ordered. There is a great view from where we were seated.

Overall, we were certainly very satisfied with our stay in Bayleaf. The modern, chic design of the hotel and room made it appealing for us. On a personal note, I congratulate the Bayleaf for having a fantastic team of professional staffs for making our stay in Manila memorable. The front desk, concierge, the housekeepers and the breakfast staffs were professional and delivered a very high level of customer service.

I'm certainly looking forward to my next stay with them.
Thank you, Bayleaf Intramuros for the memorable stay!

Stayed, Room 715
24th - 26th Oct 2012

Regards,
BH Ng

Manila as you know is vast and hectic. This hotel lies within the intramuros district and is exempt from the chaos. It is large but still personal.Rooms are great - got upgraded to executive which was a dream.Everyone from reception to doorstaff were really friendly and helpful.Even took and paid for a DHL delivery until I had changed money.
Restaurant and view from the top of the building is amazing as is the breakfast.
Looking forward to a return - makes Manila comfortable

Room Tip: ge tan executive if you can

The ultramodern interior design is a marvel in ease and comfort but the greatest experience in Bayleaf is its caring staff who are friendly and are always refreshing to deal with. Their personalized services, respectful greetings always with smiles, and heartfelt thoughtfulness that anticipates my needs provide calm rest from my work akin to being at home. They are a wonderful bunch of efficient staff! And They gladly accept comments and suggestions for improvment whenever I raise some concerns to them. At the front desk are Jennifer, Michele, Fides, Joshua and Chester and others who warm up my heart upon arrival. At the restaurant, my breakfast is brightened up by Glenda (who always offers my green tea) and Karen and the perfect omelette done by Lanie! The cleaning staff are just are cheerful and pleasant. The food is always tasty -- my breakfast favorites are the roasted giant tomatoes and the fried dory fish. The mini pastries which includes croissants are varied. The dinner menu is well prepared for the pleasure of the local and foreign palate -- which are available for room service. The Filipino dessert of leche flan topped with macapuno is to die for! Bayleaf is world class Filipino! Am proud of Bayleaf!

Room Tip: The best rooms for me are those with one-panel glass window that showg a breathtaking view of Intram...

We had been to The Bayleaf twice this year already and it's getting better every visit. On our second visit we finally get to dine at the Sky deck..it was romantic though it was drizzling. Food was great, we had the Bangus dish. Sorry I just forgot the name.

We like it that Mcdonalds and 7/11 is just downstairs. So convenient!!

The 9 Spoons for breakfast was even more romantic. I can never get enough of the view while having breakfast with my soon to leave boyfriend. The best way to spend those last few ours is at The Bayleaf. If you want a hotel that is away from the noise of Manila with the best view. I would highly recommend it.

We look forward to coming back and trying out another room color or the executive suite perhaps soon.

Room Tip: It's quite hard to find so it is handy that you print a map however you can just ask around when...

Great hotel with value for money. Excellent service from their young staff members.

Drawback... May need to invast the breakfast spread and the location of the hotel is in a dead area. So if you have your transportation sorted out this is a perfect hel to stay.

Room Tip: Value for money. If you have your transportation sorted out then this is a prefect hotel.
