I want to have the drug of the guy he must have been taking when he decided to put this hotel in a place like this. If you are looking for a great room with really nice features, lots of space and don´t plan to leave the hotel, this is the place to go. The staff is great, helpful and bend over backwards to make you feel at home. So just stay there and don´t bother to look or even go outside. You will be met with pollution, noise and the usual smell of garbage, jeepney and trycicle exhaust gases mixed with the close by chinese "deli" stenches which basically has nothing to do with chinese food. Just cupnoodle places to poison yourself. Avoid the Cafe France around the corner under all circumstances as the food there seems to come from the left over thrown out by the chinese places. Basically every building in a 500 meter radius is a bank. There must be 50 of them. Not one restaurant besides the one in the hotel. Unless you want to call Yellow cab and McDo a restaurant. The hotel restaurant has a very good with set menu for very acceptable prices and a nice international selection of a la carte dishes. The only problem is the fact that the chef seems to be US trained. He puts sugar into absolutely everything. Breakfast for a non Filipino is close to neglectable despite a rich buffet. No bread (except the sweet stuff they think is bread), sweet pork sausage called longanisa.
So my advise again. Stay inside as also taxis will take forever to get out of the area due to permanently clogged roads around the place. Allow an additional 30 minutes if you need to get to the airport.
