“Filipino favorites”

I like the new look of cafe ilang ilang. The last time I was here was years ago . I always come to this restaurant whenever in Manila for some good Filipino favorites. They serve the best bibingka and pancit luglug.

“Better but not outstanding”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

I am reviewing this based on comparing it with other high end hotel buffet in Metro Manila. Selection of food is good but I appreciate more of a quality rather than quantity. Don't expect that you can eat all of the dishes since you are given so much selection. I would recommend the pizza section, the japanese sushi section, the chinese dimsum, try to have the fresh seafood section grill over or baked then have their brewed coffee.
If you pay the full price, I would probably not go back to this buffet. However, if you get their deal of buy 1 free 1 or 50% off on some discount card then it is probably a good experience on special occasions.
The service needs some improvement although it is way better than their former staff prior to the renovations. During those days, the servers were like gov't personnel, waiting for tip before they'll move for you. Or they will bend some rules for you and say "ikaw na bahala sa amin mamaya".

“The steak night is just ok”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

We had dinner there with a client who wanted a good dinner steak - but quite disappointed... Place was ok - food selection not bad although since we are there for the steak - quite disppapointed,

Service was good but parking is terrible.

“Renovated & Food offering re-invented!”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

I've always loved this place even when I was young. It's the typical breakfast/lunch meeting place if you find yourself in Manila. Food was delicious then...and so it is too, now! Their buffet offering is quite extensive from local, to European to Asian fusion. Very impressive Cheese & chorizo & deli selection! The ambience a plus! I just hope they improve on their service...as typical of an old traditional hotel, the staff seem to be in no hurry to serve hungry & eager people like us.

“New and Improved Cafe Ilang-Ilang”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Cafe Ilang Ilang has definitely caught up with the times! I still remember eating sunday lunch with family there years ago and they had flowery patterned chair covers and limited buffet choices. But now, after visiting recently it has improved a lot. I have to commend the chefs with the satisfying, tasty and dizzying array of food. The ambience is also nice and is at par with international hotels. Getting reservations beforehand is helpful to first timers. And the table hopping magicians are a treat to the kids!
