“Ripped off and poisoned”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

We went in for a late lunch as the restaurant looked nice, and had a tripadvisior sticker. However, the service was truly terrible compared to other restaurants in Manila. After much waiting the food arrived, and it wasn't that great. They also did not include VAT in the menu price, giving a nice surprise when the bill arrived. Unfortunately I then also got terrible food poisoning from the food. Informed Mitre management but received no response. Very disappointing. Do not recommend.

This resto can take away your stress. The atmosphere is calm and you can bite your food with "gusto".

Good food, higher prices but well worth it.
Kind of hidden in night time.... keep looking or asking around.

“tasty food in an unusual setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

This unprepossessing little restaurant is full of surprises! From the outside, it looks more like a small store than a restaurant, and upon entering, one is surprised to see memorabilia and costumes of Catholic clergy. This place looks like it was converted from an old Spanish house, with its wooden floors and quaint architecture. The menu is extensive and covers several types of cuisines. We picked a few dishes that looked interesting, and they were all very good. Simply cooked, simply presented, but delicious and flavorful. The ambiance was cozy and quiet, the waitstaff discreet. One can easily spend a few hours here with a good book or engage in a quiet chat with a friend. Treasures like this are hard to find!

“sinigang was great but the adobo not so much”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2013

Ate here... and the price is expensive as was expected since it's in a tourist spot. We ordered the sinigang with maya maya and that was great. The adobo was a bit on the sweet side for our taste (preferred the traditional soy sauce/more vinegar taste).

Ambience is nice and the place is clean.
