Visiting the Philippines, I was told that The Aristocrat Restaurant was a local favourite.
I tried the BBQ pork meal with Java rice. The rice was not anything special, but the pork was tender and tasty. The dish is served with a sachet of "java sauce" that is used for the meat. It is a sweet peanut sauce tht is great for dipping.
I also tried the Gulaman at Sago, which is a sweet drink with tapioca and jello. This is a traditional dessert/drink found in the Philippines.
It was nice and cold, and not overly sweet. It hit the right spot after having lunch.
Although I was not blown away by the food, it was pleasant and did not disappoint.
