Pros:

Fast, usual travel time is 30 minutes tops
Affordable

Cons:
Some of the trains are old and sometimes they do break down and if they do your in for a long ride.
Prepare to meet the Spartans as people during the rush hour tend to see themselves as part of King Leonidas's 300. In other words it's up to you, if you will stick with the pushing and shoving just to get in the train.

“money and time saver”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

still the fastest way of commuting around metro manila..for LRT line 1 which runs from roosevelt to baclaran station, there are few trains having aircons that are malfunctioning.
well, its better than having few trains in operation, but sometimes without the aircon functioning well, its just suffocating. just a tip if you are a frequent traveler or atleast travel using the lrt's and mrt. buy a stored value ticket you can saved time and money:)

“TRAIN IN THE RESCUE....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

The once bruising two-hour trip was cut down to a mere and comfortable 30 to 45 minutes riding the train either standing or sitting down( I preferred)...This LRT(Light Rail Transit) system made every trip from point A to B efficiently faster than any car...It was a great move by the government to boost the country's economy...There are downsides such as too crowded and more staffs needed for ticketing but it can be easily solved by injecting more budgets to support it by running more trains and expanding the system...Overall, its been a success and definitely helped the Filipino commuters in their day to day traveling to and from work..Mabuhay!!!(Long Live!!!)

“SHORTEST DISTANCE FROM POINT A to B...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

One of the best thing that happened in Metro-Manila since the Beatles!!! Heavy traffic and all-day congestion are always a hindrance to filipinos when driving their own transportation...Since the introduction of LRT(Light Trail Transit System) in the Philippines' busiest and most populated area, typical trip of an hour and a half was drastically cut down to less than 30 minutes!!! Although this system is still in progress planning (needing more trains in between to travel), it surely a great move by the government to enhance and helps tremendously the Philippine economy..Mabuhay!!!! (Long Live!!!)

Be prepared to stand but it is still much better than the heavy traffic in the metro area that you have to go tru if you decide to take the cab or rent a car to get to your destinations ...
