i came here in the early of June for my short business, found this hotel was basic, room was basically normal, no pc at room, nothing special, but hotel got a nice location in center of city Manila, also staffs worked very well, they were all helpful, everything was ok with price and this maybe a nice and normal hotel.

The hotel is an old converted Spanish mansion with a lot of wood in the interior and still some of the air of its magnificent past. Staff are very helpful and there is an additional benefit of free wi-fi in the reception area and a quiet sitting area with 4-5 tables (see photos) outside the reception allowing some rest, relaxation, socialising, checking emails, enjoying a coffee etc away from the mayhem of Manila. Prices are very reasobale if you compare what you get and what you pay for it and compare with other accomodation in Manila. The hotel is very well located in the heart of the tourist area between Ermita and Malate

Room Tip: Rooms in the new building are probably better

We stayed here for a few nights whilst visiting friends in manila. We got a good walk in price and had no problems when we decided to stay an extra night.

The rooms were basic with no tv, air con and furnishings were very dated but caused us no problems. It cost extra for an air con room but not alot more. The room was clean and shower was as expected.

The location of the hotel was central but a little rough, but where in manila isnt rough? Security was 24 hour so we felt safe enough.

The service from the staff was helpful and they even let me through the back and in the staff lounge so I could iron my top. You have to pay for any extras other than basic necessities inc all food and drink, which is ok.

Most stay in manila purely in transit to other destinations in the Philippines and this hotel is perfectly suitable for this. Word of advise is that they try to charge well over for taxis from the airport but with the right approach you can get a better price (i used 'I only have this much and thats it' approach). Back to the hotel, its adequate for most, an easy casual cheap place to stay, happy holidays!

It has a good location, in Malate but away from the noise and construction of Adriatico St. It is secure with a gate and security guard. I stayed in a private room with an outside private bath for 2 nights. The rooms are basic and simple but clean and adequate. The staff are great, and there is a restuarant that has a great vegetarian offering each evening.

We stayed here 3 times over a month and it was a perfect option for manila on a budget. The main building has a cafe with good cheap food and drinks for sale. It is an old colonial-looking place with very nice hardwood floors and must have been something special in its heyday. Rooms are basic but clean, with separate bathrooms, and dorms are also available.
They offer a left luggage facility for 10 pesos per bag per day which i found very useful and cheap.

I have stayed at the pension many times since 2006, as Peace Corps uses it as its preferred lodging for its volunteers when they are in Manila. It is also occasionally used by the US Embassy--which is close by--to lodge US citizens requiring assistance (i.e., US tourists that have reported their passports and money stolen). I have long since left the Peace Corps, but continue to stay at the pension when I am in Manila. The main clientele are a mixture of young backpacking foreigners, foreigners with their Filipina/o spouses, and some Filipino travelers.

There are a variety of room options: single-sex dormitory bunk rooms cooled by electric fans with shared hot-water bathrooms (the men's in the hallway; the women's inside the dormitory room) are P400 per night. Other room options include double fan-cooled rooms with private hot-water bathrooms (en suite and across the hall) for P1200 per night and air-conditioned rooms with private en suite hot-water bathrooms for more. Rooms are sparsely furnished with beds with foam mattresses and meet basic needs, so if you need more comfort you might want to splurge on the Diamond Hotel, instead, one block away. Oh, and if you require a towel, you must inform the front desk when you check in, and pay a refundable deposit of P100. Soap and TP are complimentary. :) Wi-Fi is complementary and available in the first-floor dining area and adjacent courtyard.

The pension's operators and their staff are amazingly kind, patient, endearing, and, if you stay there a few times will remember you, which is always nice. Whenever you stay there you are bound to encounter a Peace Corps volunteer, so go ahead and strike up a conversation with them! They live throughout the provinces of the country and can probably give you some insider tips on traveling economically.

Room Tip: You have to try their calamansi juice and their oatmeal squares, and get the omelet with coffee for...

...but not alot right when compared to other options.

I had zero bad experiences with this hotel, so, I can't really give it a bad review. however, there are better hotels in Manila for the same price. If you must stay in Malate, then pension natividad is your place. But, I'd suggest staying in Makati. It's only a few km away, it's a much better neighborhood, and there's the Durban St Inn. Durban St Inn and Pension Natividad were the same price for a double AC room (1500 pisos), but Durban St Inn had a tv in the room, fridge in the room, strong wifi in the room and it's actually a very nice hotel. Pension Natividad had smaller rooms, no tv, no fridge and is simply not as nice as durban st inn. The only thing pension natividad has over Durban st inn is a restaurant. So, my advice would be to try durban st inn first. If they're full, then go for pension natividad. I don't think you'd regret a stay at pension natividad, it's just that you can do much better for the price.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main front building. There's a chance you'll get a wifi signal in you...
