Although listed as a five star hotel, that is stretching the definition a bit but the Mookai does have a small rooftop pool and other amenities that put it in a three star business hotel class. There is no restaurant but there are many decent western, Chinese, Thai and Indian restaurants nearby so that is not a problem though of course you cannot put the meals on the bill. Some rooms have a tiny balcony but it is not even big enough for a chair though it is nice for early morning views and opening the door allows the sea breeze to refresh the room. A TV with international channels, small refrigerator, small but adequate shower with hot water (give it time, the water does get hot but it takes a while) and supplied bottle water, coffee and tea facilities. The room I had on the 5th floor was very clean, reception manned 24 hours a day, in room phones capable of receiving outside calls (but routed through reception) and the two lifts were conveniently located and adequately sized for baggage and people together. The one problem are was that there was only one electrical outlet in the room so with today's multiple computer/phone/tablet charging requirements, a multiple output adapter may need to be purchased locally. Pricing is typical for Malé and with its good location and decent rooms, it is a good choice for the business traveller.
