dirty beach

Small artificial beach where locals are swimming meaning bikinis is prohibited as it is kissing. Moreover, all the locals are hanging around and watching. There are trash lying around and consequently the surrounding is quite disgusting.

Male Artificial beach is very beautiful , Artificial Beach is Heaven for male people ,we go there Many times , very nice view .

Behind a breakwater - not for children

It was not a beach as told. Behind a breakwater was an isolated ( with buoyant fence made of plactic) area, where you could swim. Two holes in the breakwater from which water comes and goes out of the dock area.
Definitely not for children!

The only Artificial Beach in Maldives

Visited the Artificial Beach on 25 June 2014 , its located on the eastern side of Male city.Its reachable by foot , about 0.5 km from Hulhule Airport terminal.If you are somewhere in Male city , you can ride a bus , get off at the Bus Stop 101-402 , or by taxi.
Because this is the only swimmable beach in Male ,protected by breakwater its a favorite place for the locals.Limited number of foreigners visit here, because of Male is a local island , bikinis and revealing swimsuits are banned .
Several restaurants like Dinemore ,Breakwater and Oxygen Cafe are nearby.You can watch stunning sunset in the afternoon.
