“Fusion -East meets West”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

Great menu choice - open kitchen concept - Chinese Wok, Malay, Japanese, Italian & Western Grill.
Steaks & fish are very good - overall quite expensive but you are sitting in the open basement of Starhill Mall which hosts a variety of leading luxury brands. The basement area is designed as a 'food village' of which Shook takes the prominent position.
Handy location on Bukit Bintang & close to Marriott, Westin, Ritz Carlton & Millenium Hotels.
Good atmosphere, lunch on this occasion with friends & very good wine choice... Only criticism was the service which is usually very good, we were rushed to finish as they were moving tables around us for a closed private function!
Previous evening visits have been more relaxed with time to sample some very good dishes...desserts are very good!

“good food but overpriced water”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

Entertained some clients over lunch. The food was excellent. However, when the bill came, it was quite alarming to see that the drinking water bill came up to quite a huge amount.

“Nice place,but a bit overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

We had dinner at Shook with our 2 sons in January 2013 after searching around this area for a good meal. The restaurant is a great concept with different cuisines in one place. The location inside the mall is questionable to some ,but not unpleasant to us.The Maitre D was very nice ,but the food was average and they were not quite up to the task as far as service is concerned (my main dish was waiting on a table next to ours while I was finishing my appetizer and was getting cold). None of the other dishes were exceptional in their own right, maybe it is better to choose a specialty restaurant for every cuisine. The prices were "european"- like ,but that itself is a hard sell in Kuala Lumpur...

“Worth the Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

Been here 3 times and generally it has been good although it is NOT recommended with a big group al a carte ( unless you pre order? ) The menu is huge and there are choices for everyone so 6 people can all eat what they fancy. Its very nice when the live music is playing in the evenings!
