Great choice for a couple of nights stay and if you only require a comfortable bed and shower. Everything else requires payment as an add on. This includes air con, wifi, tv and even towels. Be aware that even though the wifi is sold as "in room wifi" it only allows you to surf the internet on one device at a time. The staff themselves aren't very helpful if asking for tourist information- they didn't even understand or know where the nearest metro station is; they had to get their manager to answer us a simple question!
Our room was small (couldn't open my suitcase completely on the floor) and for some reason, the bathroom was big. Didn't understand this design. Our window didn't even shut properly which meant noise and mosquitos could get into the room. The solution? Tape.
The location isn't too bad but we had a friend working nearby so it was more convenient for us. Walking distance of 3 stations, so quite good for public transport.

Overall, good for a short term stay with no frills.

Hi There,

Thanks for the review.

We are centrally located and that's a big plus. Nearby each hotel, you’ll find established convenience store operators and food & beverage outlets to give you reliable facilities within easy reach.

All feedback helps us improve; We adopt a strong service culture and are of course, are concerned to learn that our team missed the mark. This review has been shared amongst them and hope we would live up to your expectations when you come by next.

Hopefully we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Warm Rgds,

I recently stayed at Tune Hotel, a 2 star budget hotel, in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Overall, I would say the hotel is just barely an average rating.
Firstly, here is what I don't like about the hotel.
1. Thin walls - you can hear the other occupants of the hotels in the passageways and in their rooms. As I was staying on Floor 2, and next to the main road, you can hear traffic very easily, especially those cars and motorcycles which are speeding in the very early morning.
2. Website booking could be better. For one thing, it should have more explanation what was included in the each of the optional items.
3. Ridiculous Towel and Toiletries set - For RM 6 dollars, you get a towel, a small bar of soap and a small tube of shampoo. You still need toothbrush, shaving kit, cotton buds, etc.
4. Internet wifi does not last 24 hrs ... it ends at 12 mn each day, irregardless of whatever time you get the wifi key.
5. No cupboard to hang your clothes, just 3 wall pegs and 3 hangers providers.
6. No table top. You get just a pull down desktop, in front of the TV and you need to sit on the bed to work on your laptop.
7. No free complimentary water in the room. There is a 24 hrs convenience store inside the hotel. There is also a small café operated by San Francisco Coffee, but it does not have 24 hours operations.
8. I was given a TV remote that don't work. It could be the batteries but the staff didn't check before issuing to me.
9. I didn't know I paid for 3 set of towels with toiletries set, which I needed to bring up to the room by myself.
Here is what I like about this hotel.
1. The concept of a limited service hotel, pay for what you used.
2. The location is at Maju Junction, nearby a mono-rail station
3. Surprising, the rooms are clean
4. The pricing.

It would be hard for me to go back to this hotel as I am not a good sleeper. I was very irritated by the noises coming from the road outside the hotel.

Room Tip: This is not a bad option if you are really on a budget to KL.

Hi,

Thank you for completing a Trip Advisor Review on your recent stay at Tune Hotels Downtown Kuala Lumpur.

Our hotel essentially operates on a limited service concept, parallel to a “pay as you use concept” Since we are a Limited Service Hotel, we provide the basics for a good night sleep.

We do not provide items such as wardrobe, mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities, extra pillows, extra beds, room service, etc. Air-conditioning, Television, and Wi-Fi are chargeable add-ons and towels are on rental basis only.

Rooms are space efficient and functional. This helps in regulating affordable pricing, thus, translating them to saving for guests.

Guests would be able to assemble their stay requirements to suit their budget; henceforth, encouraging guests to spend less within the hotel itself, driving more spend outside the hotel.

As for the Wifi ;the 24 hour wifi counts from the first time you log in and not by usage hours.
All guest feedback allows us the opportunity to improve our services and facilities and we readily welcome both positive and constructive comments. I have picked up some of the areas that are in need for improvements and assure you that we’ll work on ensuring the needful is carried out soon.

We hope to be perfectly equipped in making your stay a pleasant experience the next time you come by.

See you soon.

We stayed in this hotel several times for the past few years. But in February 2013, it was a terrible experience for us which we never experience from any other hotels around the world.

We paid for the aircon, but what we got is HOTAIR, we requested to change to another room, and they did allowed us to change to 3 different rooms but all the same........WE SPENT A NIGHT IN THE OVEN ROOM......then we promised we never return to this hotel anymore.......I would like to advise if any of you look for the budget hotel, there's many other hotel in KL which better than this one......but overall tune hotel is good. it just the matter of Aircon,,,,,, and you need to pay for the Aircon which is based on time consuming charged. So if you look for comfortable with aircon for a night stay,.... you may need to think again to book on this hotel......

Tune hotel are great to stay for a stopover eg: 1 or 2 nights or a single person. The rooms are extremely small no much bigger than the bed and the bathroom is shower toilet combined, very tiny.
There is limited space to unpack a suitcase as it is not designed for a long term stay.
Having said that, they are cheap, extremely clean, have great beds and great for a short stop.

Even though it is right next to the airport the plane noise does not seem to be a problem in the room, it is obviously sound proof. You pay for air conditioning and wifi in a 12 or 24hr block. Very cheap and also cheap to purchase a bathroom kit which is a towel for hire and toiletries.

There is a 7/11 downstairs for food and beverages or it is only a 7 min walk across to the airport food court. A shuttle bus for 30c is also available to and from the airport.

they have a 7/11 store and a small coffee shop inhouse. rooms are small in size but come with a cozy and comfortable bed. bathrooms are too small. you need to pay for the towel and toiletries as well. better you carry your own as the soap and shampoo provided are not of good quality. they have installed LCD's as well now in the room but only have 12 local channels with one english movie channel. KFC and few muslim restaurants are on walking distance.
