“Receptionist need to learn how to be lovely, friendly and kind”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Receptionist very unkind, not friendly at all. Unhelpful in terms of any problem regarding of our stay. Never smile and say thank you or sorry and that making us not comfortable..... Bell boy, waitress, waiter are friendly and kind. But still after two day still we transfer to a hotel near by.

The hotel is not in a walkable area. Definitely requires taxis. The pics online are not how clean it is there is definitely "air-brushing" going on there.. blur that old looking furniture into the 21st century! oh ya! Very cramped area, and bathroom. I would not go back to this hotel. The breakfast was good though.

Dear Guest,

Greetings!

We thank you for your candid feedback.

I am sorry to learn that you were not impressed by the hotel furniture & did not found the location comfortable to walk around.

We at Citrus constantly endeavor to make a great experience for our esteemed guests.

We are centrally located in Kuala Lumpur & in walking distance to LRT station Sultan Ismail which provides great connectivity to most of the locations in the city.

We have shopping malls & local eateries within walking distance of the hotel, however yes, you may need a cab or use the train services to visit distant areas.

The pictures on our website are actual photographs. We have taken serious note of your feedback regarding the hotel furniture not looking fresh & would definitely work towards rejuvenating our product. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you inadvertently.

I sincerely hope that you will stay with us on your next visit to Kuala Lumpur.

Best Regards,
Manendra Sharma

This is an older fairly run down hotel - a paint job and new carpet would do it the world of good. It is in the middle of chow kit which is KL's red light district.... but that didnt pose any problems.. Theres some very good cheap local eateries near the hotel in the surrounding backstreets if you like local curries etc... I wouldnt go to this hotel, unless i absolutely had to....

I have traveld to many different countries such as Malaysia . I've been four times already in Malaysia but in other hotels .but last one in CItrus Hotel was awful !!!
every where were full of cockroaches and Termites !!!
Within an hour, we could kill at least twenty to thirty cockroaches .
for even the smallest request you should have argued with hotel reservationist.
bath tubes too dirty to even touch !!!
tapes were broken and after 4 times calling and warning they didnt fix it up .
nobody could swim in the pool because after a few minutes their eyes would get Serious infections as i got !!!
once i entangle a staff whose hands were in my Suitcase and ask him to leave !!!!!
but finally they stole my Glasses !!!!!
No one was responsible for anything. they just . they just could shake their heads .
beleive me , it is better to sleep in the streets instead of citrus hotel .
I have repeatedly thanked God that it was a business trip without my family .
it s not a place for a family .
dont go there.
never and ever .

I always try to stay positive when in a hotel, but this place made this very hard.

Il start with the few positives that there were. We were staying on the 10th floor in a club room, this was rather spacious and had a TV and a good view of the city, close to us was the club lounge with Internet access and another good view of the city.

Now the negatives. When we arrived, we had to wait 1 and a half hours for the room to be ready. Once entering the room, we immediately realised that the toilet was not working properly, in that it was making strange hissing and gurgling noises (which didn't stop throughout the duration of our stay). We called to reception for someone to come up and fix it, but no one turned up.
The breakfast was lacking in choice and not very nice.
The pool and gym were closed for refurbishment, this in itself would have been ok if the hotel had warned us about this prior to our arrival (ie emailed us) , the pool was a main selling point to us, so to find out that it was closed on the day of arrival was very annoying.
On the first morning, we were also awoken to sounds of hammering and drilling coming from the roof (nowhere near the pool), at this point we were too fed up to even ask what was going on.
The room itself was quite dirty, what with gum stains on the carpet and chairs.
Finally, we left the building for a short time and left the do not disturb sign on the door, we came back to find that the cleaners had disregarded the sign and come in anyway to clean the room, I can't even begin to express how furious we were at this.

Overall this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at and would never return.

My dad and I stayed here for 5 days. I can see the Petronas Tower from our room.

I booked the room from the internet so i didn't know that its too far from the airport and

central district. The food's fine. I asked for an adapter so i could charge my cellphones

and got it after 3 days. So my cellphones are dead for 3 Days! And the timing's terrible

because of the Haze! But i enjoyed shopping at Bukit Bintang and China Town. My dad's too

old to walk a distance (He's 88) so most of the time, he stayed in the room. Monorail Chowkit

station is just 5minute walk from the Hotel.
