“Good if you involve activities within Pusat damansara and jalan semantan Vicinity”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

It's a convenient location if you need to deal with activities around pusat damansara, jalan semantan and jalan dungun. It's walking distance to Help university and university of Sheffield. If you need to take PET exam or UKCAT exams in the morning, to avoid the unpredictable traffic condition, putting a night at this hotel might be a good choice.
Room condition is very basic, we stayed at two rooms apartment, pretty clean. The layout is dormitory based, don't expect to have fancy interior in your room. ask for the room facing the back to minimize the noise. The design isn't ideal for Asian family with adult kids as you may find difficult to enjoy the privacy. A doorless toilet and shower are enclosed by two main wooden doors, it means only one occupant at each time even though toilet and shower are separated. However the high water pressure allows you to enjoy a great shower!
Morning breakfast is very basic too.
The staff are helpful and friendly.

A wonderful and spacious place with a excellent location. I found the location central. The breakfast services was also good and filling. However the security of the limited access of the floors was sometimes obstructive, overall I had a wonderful time at the hotel and will certainly return there.

Room Tip: Take rooms not facing the main road for a truly green feeling

Stayed for 2 nights on 25 and 26 Dec. Deceiving website photos. Worst place I have stayed so far. The lobby stink of cigarette smell. Hallway dirty and smelly. Trip hazard everywhere. Bathrooms are stinky with mouldy tiles and faulty toilet. Rooms are not insulated from noise. Location is inconvenient for tourist. It a definitely No no for family.

If you're planning on a vacation where you can walk out of your hotel and sightsee on foot, Peninsula probably isn't for you.

If you have a car / don't mind using a taxi, Peninsula is the best value for money in KL. For travellers who find themselves staying in Peninsula, note that Bangsar is about 5min away by car, where you can shop and get good food + drink.

I stay there frequently, and it hasn't disappointed me yet. Rooms are always exceptionally clean (they don't provide toothbrush kits, so come prepared). TV's are CRTs but there is a decent enough channel selection - NatGeo, international news stations, Star Movies... Room service is quick and good value for hotel meals, and food is of consistently average quality (good enough for a quick fix, as all the good food is in Bangsar anyway). Staff are very friendly and warm, well-trained and helpful.

Some rooms have a pull-out sofa bed which is convenient, and balconies to air out the room / use as a smoking area. The TV swivels so you can watch it from the bed or on the sofa (ie: if you are having a meal at the coffee table). The A/C's in the rooms are usually very strong, one above the bed, and another in the kitchen/dining area, so the rooms can get quite cold. The dining area is handy with a large fridge, microwave oven and sink. Bathrooms are functional, though you may want to note that the floors can get VERY wet and slippery from the shower, so put out the floor mat. The rooms are generally very quiet, with blackout curtains, so sleeping in is easy. The hotel also has late check out, which is reasonable.

There is a bar downstairs should you want to get a drink, but not for everyone. It isn't a quiet pub, but plays loud music (of the Indian variety) with laser lights etc. The sounds do not reach the rooms. There are insert-a-dollar type massage chairs outside the bar, which I find quite nice (for massage chairs) to use while waiting at reception or for a car. A few restaurants are walking distance, in the block next to Peninsula, though I've never tried. The in-house restaurant is clean and functional if a bit lonely.

There is a rooftop swimming pool with barbecue area. View here is great and it's rather nice, nestled in with the trees, radio music playing at a good level. Only complaint is that cleaning could be more frequent, I was a bit put off with the water.

The hotel is very accommodating and all in all, great value and consistent.

We stayed there for 5 nights in a 2 room suite (2 families). The hotel and amenities are showing signs of ageing. Staff is OK, sort of what you would expect from a 3 star establishment. Pool upstairs is nice. Breakfast at the restaurant is quite poor.Location is good - you can get to any part of KL without major hassle if you have car. If not, taxi stand is just across the entrance. Overall, good experience. I'd recommend it for families on budget and group travelers.

Average service apartment. Clean and comfortable. Ancient TV. Location is out of the way, unless you have a car or have arranged some sort of transportation then you will be fine.. There are better service apartments in Kuala Lumpur. I didnt mind it as we had our own car.. And stayed for only 2 nights.. We chose it because of the rates.. With a car.. it's close to Damansara Heights, Bangsar, KL.

Pros:
- Large rooms
- Breakfast included

Cons:
- Terrible, unresponsive service from both the reception desk and the room service
- Breakfast food was so greasy and tasteless we elected to pass up subsequent free breakfasts
- All rooms allow smoking, so the whole place smells like cigarette residue
- Poor layout of the rooms with no fan near the bed
- Poor location on a highway with limited food or convenience store options nearby
- For the money, a much better quality option (albeit possibly a bit smaller) can be had in KL
