This is a very basic budget hotel. on the plus side we were allowed to check in very early and it is right in the middle of the market in china town but that is where the plus ends.
we were met by a woman at the desk who was really miserable and just told us what money and deposits she wanted- a deposit for the key a 1st for us.When we got to our room it had no window sheets that were white in a former life and a bathroom that would have been ok in a B&B in the sixties with no hot water at the sink. The bed was big but that did mean that you needed to wald sideways holding the wall to get in and out of bed. If we had been staying any longer we would have left imediatley but as it was for 1 night we stayed. This is probably the only time i felt that it was safer to carry my passport and valubles with me rather than leave them in the room or should i say cupboard as normally 'rooms' with no windows are cupboards arent they.
Later we were greeted by a different member of staff who was fine and tried to sell us trips but he didnt push them if only we had seen him first.
all in all i will never stay here again and would only recomend 18-25 year olds on a budget to use this hotel and even then they need to bring ear plugs as the walls are paper thin. Dont be fooled by having a window as all they did was look out into an internal corridor

Room Tip: make sure you have an external window

For a budget accommodation this hotel is good value for money. Location is right in the middle of china town and the closest LRT station is about 5 minutes walk.
As it is a budget accommodation don't expect much from it. The rooms are clean. We stayed in the family room and it was quite spacious.
The downside to this place is the bathroom. Everything in the bathroom got wet when we showered. There wasn't a sectioned off shower area, just a shower head attached to the wall by the sink and after a few showers it smelled.
Another downside was getting woken up at 6am by prayers over a loud speaker from a mosque nearby. It was very annoying at first but we were so tired by the end of our stay that we didn't hear the prayers anymore.
Overall a good cheap place to stay only for a few days.

We arrived from Vietnam late at night to this hotel, and would have looked for another hotel immediately only for it being 1am. What a horrible place. The instant you enter the hotel, there is a horrible smell of bleach efforting to cover up an even stronger smell of damp. The room was windowless, damp, tiny, and there was a dirty vent above my head. Had to move the bed to avoid the dust etc that was falling down from said vent. The TV was dated and didn't work. We felt completely uncomfortable, and left first thing next morning. We are in no way picky but genuinely cannot understand how anybody would rate this hotel decent.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the standard double room for 7 nights.
Initially we were supposed to stay only 4 nights but we extended our stay.

The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown at walking distance from the Puduraya bus terminal and Pasar Seni mono rail station. There are heaps of eateries and shops around.

Our room was located on the third floor. Nothing fancy but really clean and big enough for 2 persons with 2 big bags.

The quality of your stay depends on how considerate are your neighbours. Our first night was quiet noisy and one of our neighbour was probably smoking in his room as we could smell it from our room. The other nights were perfect.

What really made our stay was the kindness of the staff. They're not hidding behind their desks when we were walking in or out. It doesn't cost a lot to say good morning and smile and they've perfectly understood it. Ben gave us some really good advices on the things to see around Kuala Lumpur. He also helped us to plan our trip to Penang and Langkawi.

If we had to come back in KL we would definitely stay there again.

At first I shared a twin-bed room with my mother but because she was snorting we changed for a single-room for each of us. I could still hear her waking up at night, going to the bathroom... ! Those small rooms had no windows. They weren't nice at all but it's ok for sleeping.

Stayed here last year, after a few days in Bali we went to KL. Good value, comfortable sleep only downside was no fridge, this was solved by buying bags of ice, so really not an issue. Right in the middle of the markets, when you leave in the morning it is a street, when you come back it is a massive market. Great location, train stations are within walking distance, MacDonalds is on the corner. Also the hop on hop off bus is available as well.
The hotel is clean, comfortable and good value for money for a short stay only, we stayed 4 days.

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Chinatown 2 for 3 nights and our experience wasn't a bad one. it's right in the middle of the Chinatown markets, which was an exciting buzz of activity. We did have to ask a vendor for directions to make sure we were gong the right way, but found it quite easily after that. We were checked in quickly (we did have to get money out to pay for the room in advance), and we had to pay a key deposit of MYR20 which we weren't made aware of, but we got it back when we left. I knew I had booked a room without a window because it was the cheaper option, and this was fine for us as we're not fussy, but it made it super hard to get up in the morning without any natural light! Next time I'd spend the extra and get a room with window (it does feel a bit like a jail cell without one). Not a major issue as we were out all day anyway. Toilet and shower worked, the walls are paper thin so you can hear other guests on the same floor, we didn't watch the TV and we didn't have a fridge, but there are lounges and a TV in the lobby area which is good for chilling if you're flying out late. Wifi works well too...the hotel is close to Pasar Seni LRT and Kuala Lumpur KTM stations, the Central Markets, Little India (not Brickfields, the other one) and there are plenty of convenience stores and places to eat around. All in all a fun stay, but not if you're after something flash.

Room Tip: Spend the little bit extra and get a room with windows!
