We stayed at Hotel Ancasa for 2 nights. The location is good being right next to Petaling street which is famous for bargain shopping and also right next to the bus stand from where buses for Singapore leave. Other than that the hotel cannot claim any other benefits. Do not be misled by a whole lot of positive reviews about this hotel on tripadvisor like we did. Also, the pictures on Tripadvisor and hotel website are misleading. The rooms are small.

In terms of amenities they don't provide any face towels and no drinking glasses for water. Shower stall is tiny so that even when you lather yourself you hit the walls. The shower temperature control is pathetic (took me almost 2 minutes to get the temperature right). Rugs on the room floor are dirty.

Even for replenishing the sugar sachets they charge you RM 5. Reception commits to providing you some stuff but then no follow up is done on whether housekeeping fulfilled the commitment.

Breakfast buffet is decent. Room service menu is pathetic with only 8-9 set meals and no other choices.

Shuttle service to KLCC and BBKLCC is a positive.

Room Tip: Rooms with twin bed are better and more spacious. Do not go for room with queen bed even when you are couple. My friend traveling with us made this mistake. If you really want a big bed, take a twin room and ask them to join beds (the receptionist suggested they could do it).

(2012 - despite the displayed travel date) Yep you read the title right, we stayed only a total 5 mins - between the check in and getting up into our room. We decided we had to leave as soon as we walked in to a stuffy room with no air (smelt a little like damp carpet) and a lop sided old bed in an extremely cramped area! There was literally no walking space, let alone luggage space - the unfortunate though friendly staff had just knocked at the door taking up our stuff before we told him we had to check out!! It didn't help that I was pregnant and felt really claustrophobic!!

The photos looked fantastic but we were shocked and horrified, maybe even mortified about how different everything looked. I mean it looked completely different!!!
I'm not one to usually complain but my, this review had to be written, it was truly disappointing!

BUT....
If you are not worried about things like that... staff was wonderful and friendly (though a little shocked about our decision) and the location of the place was excellent, literally right outside china town!!

We spend a few days in this hotel. The first thing you notice is the very busy and noisy breakfast.
The rooms are slightly worn down and it appears the plumbing isn't all that great either. The hotel location is great though, walking distance to metro and china town.
It was part of a larger trip, so i am not sure about the price/ value.

Room Tip: some rooms have a view to the Petronas towers
