“Service let down 1st class hotel”
Reviewed January 21, 2012

Stayed here with our family group of 7 and had a 3b/r apartment - it was amazing, huge, with everything you could want or need. Location is so central to everything so easy walk to most things. Buffet breakfast at a hotel with this standard of accommodation was surprisingly disappointing. Restaurant is apparantly open until 10:30 however when we arrived at 10 we were told the kitchen had already closed and had only a small range to choose from which we decided to get delivered to the room. Room service was prompt enough but on one occasion cocktails were brought in proper glasses, but the next time we ordered we got them in disposable plastic cups!! Internet in room was good, beds were fantastic. The massage place in the hotel is AMAZING both visually and with the massages, but again the admin side of it was a let down and they called our room 3 times about an appointment only to then tell us they had double booked and we had to come at another time.

Room Tip: Three bedroom apartment is fantastic for a group of friends or large family at a very reasonable pri...

Great serviced apartment. It is just like a 5 star hotel with the advantage of larger space rooms. Good for families as well as for business trips and or bachelors. It is 3 min walk (just across the street) to the two towers and about 12 min walk (to the right) to the large pavilion mall and near buy shopping centers (Time Squares about 7 min walk from pavilion mall). The breakfast has good large varieties but not as 5 star hotels and crowded but they have another section on the pool which may be an advantage to take breakfast in the open air on the pool area. Swimming pool is nice and outdoor on high floor. Night entertainment clubs is close (about 10 min walk to the left) of the hotel. I recommend this hotel (serviced apartments) you will not go wrong with this hotel especially if you have a family.

Room Tip: One bed room is nice - two bed room has 2 rooms and a living room

We went to Kuala Lumpur for 10 days and we assure everyone that the hotel is absolutely amazing. The rooms are huge. It is very clean, and the staff extremely friendly and helpuful. It is 2 minutes walk to the Petronas Tower and to SURIA mall. We wish we could stay more days. If we will travel again to Kuala Lumpur we will stay at ASCOTT.

We arrived at the Ascott after a long trip from the airport as the shuttle driver thought we had said Prescott Hotel. (make sure you say The Ascott and say it clearly) We were very impressed with the check in and helpfulness of the staff. The location is perfect so close to the towers and shops. We even walked to the KL tower and went to the revolving restaurant.

The one bedroom apartment we stayed in (709) was gorgeous. It had everything you could need including a full sized fridge, dishwasher, two TVs, a walk in robe, huge bathtub and an amazing shower. The bed was amazingly comfortable and provided a great nights sleep. I love, love, love the shower and the bath. I also love the l'occitane products that are provided.

The choice at breakfast was large with a egg station where you could get eggs to order. You could eat your breakfast by the pool, in the restaurant or on the balcony. The pool is stunning and there is also a childs pool. The laundry is 10 RM for washing and 10 RM for drying and I believe it is open 24 hours.

I visited the spa and used the 50 RM discount voucher we got on check in. I had a body scrub, hot stone massage, normal massage and facial and paid about $130 AU. The therapists were well trained, friendly and kind. The experience was wonderful and matched any high end spas I have been to before.

The service at the hotel was very good, with all staff eager to please and nothing being too much of a fuss. They even arranged a Doctor to come out to the hotel at 11pm when my husband needed one.

This is our new fave hotel in KL, we will be back!

I wouldnt say the Ascott Kuala Lumpur is a hotel - it is more of a serviced residence.

The rooms are huge - booked the one room studio apartment and was given a two room unit. It was huge! We wanted something homely and the Ascott chain is the way to go. You have your kitchen with full set of cooking utensils , own washing machine / dryer, tv & dvds, etc.

Love the toiletries, shower gel, soap, body lotion are all the L'Occitane brand.

Below is at the lobby there is an exclusive Jazz bar / restaurant which serves excellent food and a good place to chill but the best part its walking distance to all the club scenes and shopping at the KLCC.

Ascott would have the best view of the Petronas Twin Tower.
