asked the boyfriend...'because it's old and pretty!' why else?

If coming from the National Mosque, you can cut though here to get to Central Market. Go in and over, and turn left when leaving and follow the road, turning right to go over the river.

The old KTM station is almost without argument one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture from Malaysia's by-gone days. Not sure what the building is used for nowadays, but it's worth a visit if only to take a few awesome photos of it and it's also gorgeous twin across the road.

The station is best accessed by taxi, but is also walkable from Chinatown (Petaling Street), Central Market, Merdeka Square, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, KL Sentral and Little India (Brickfields).

This building is one of the most photographed buildings in KL as it has Moorish architecture, its still well maintained, saw it only from the outside as we had limited time. Worth taking time to see this historical building.

On day three I think we were fed up by taxi drivers doing their rich white man dance so we decided to walk back to our hotel which meant we stumbled through the train station. It's nice to see they have retained the original building as from first glance you wouldn't guess it was a train station. I'm a big fan of these original buildings rather than the modern day stations normally built on top of the originals. Needs a little bit of work around and about the building and on some of the interior but a bit of heritage which should be preserved. So worth a visit while its still there.
