Interesting exhibit with great displays and information. Terrific shop too. Restaurant was a set menu and a bit expensive for ordinary food.

“Beautiful building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

Even if you aren't interested in the exhibits (which are good) the building that the museum is housed in is worth a visit.

“Good Collection, Spacious and Clean”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

While the interior itself is minimalist, it is very Islamic in its style. The collection spans the Musilim world from Iran, and India to Moorish Spain. The downstairs area has a pretty good take on Malaysia's history as well. It is a good peaceful haven from the heat, and has quite a lot of good history and artefacts on display.

Tip - stroll down to the main city mosque afterwards to find an honest taxi

“Worth a look”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

I went to the museum because my friend suggested it. It is a beautiful museum with some really cool pieces. I especially liked the room of miniture mosques from around the world, it is really impressive. It is next to the national mosque and if you head up the hill you can easily walk to the planetarium, national orchid garden, and bird aviary.

“Stunning, comprehensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013

This is an amazing museum...reflects KL's love of architecture. Emphasis on central Asia rather than the Middle East. Especially appreciated the Chinese Islamic calligraphy pieces and the Turkish ceramics...lots of Iranian representation there, too.
