The overall look of the hotel was good, however our room had spill marks all over the floor, sheets marked, somebody else's hair on the floor and there was a used lip balm left in the room from a previous guest. Discusting I dont think I would stay here again

Stayed here for a week on a business trip. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel fairly new and in good overall condition. The room nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was sufficient. The room could be cleaner though, one of the glasses was really filthy, the fridge smelly, and a few other areas could have been cleaner. There is a shopping mall right next door, but it seems to sell mainly furniture. There are a few restaurants in the mall, so there is some food available nearby. The breakfast is sufficient.

The hotel was very busy during my stay, mainly with Chinese bus tours. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again on business, but would it chose it if I was visiting with my wife.

A simple hotel

The bed is good, room is not bad (if you like mirrors all around you).

Reception service can be improved while the hotel design is fine.

Room cleanliness is good.

For location, it is situated quite close to the city centre but you need a car to move around that area unless you want to hang out in a furniture mall.

Vivatel is relatively a new hotel in the town, was impressed with the Room which their room is categorize based on the element of the earth.

The room is clean and spacious, awesome bathroom! and such a great night sleep.

The breakfast is just OK.

Around the hotel have a mamak stall but no 7-11 around the corner.
During the day time, you can actually walk at that mall, but its like a furniture mall, we are so lucky as during our stay, Doraemon Exhibition was there, so we walked over to the mall to see em ( The hotel and the mall is connected ).

Beware if you are driving to the parking at late night, if you enters the parking from the side, they did not switch on the parking lights, so its up to you to find the lift lobby area!!!

Overall, its a good hotel, you wont want to stay long there as nothing much is there, best for business trip, not for the families nor couples.

We thank you for your comprehensive feedback on your recent stay at Vivatel Kuala Lumpur, and we are glad to hear that our hotel is comfortable for you.

My sole purpose of the KL trip was to visit the "100 Doraemon" exhibition, which is held at the exhibition hall at the adjoining Viva Home Shopping Mall. The hotel provides direct access to the mall and that is really convenient.

The hotel is very new and its design is sleek and chic. It looks like a boutique hotel with the themed decor in the room. I was staying in the room of "wood" from the 5 elements in Chinese fengshui used to design and differentiate the rooms of the hotel. The room is brightly lit and spacious. Even the bathroom is luxuriously spacious. The room is certainly value for money given the comfort and chic furnishing. Even though the highway is just beside the hotel, my 2 evenings there were quiet.

The room is well designed, every space is well used.
Room is clean, baby cot is provided and all bath accessories are provided.
We faced the problem of air-condition not working. At first the staff didn't response fast to it. But after few times interact with the front desk staff, they did make a good arrangement for us.
Glad that they are looking serious to customer's response.
Too bad the swimming pool is closed for upgrading.

I stayed for 2 nights on business recently over the weekend.
I can accept the fact that the hotel is fairly new and teething problems are bound to happen, such as keys not working, no hot water, faulty air-conditioning and toilets. I cannot accept rude staff at the front desk. Were they properly trained before they were “unleashed” onto your guests? I was in Room 1248.

Plus points:
+ New rooms and everything is clean and modern.
+ Breakfast, lunch and dinner spreads were acceptable, although choices were limited.
+ Parking is complimentary for guests – just exchange your ticket for a prepaid on at the concierge.
+ Direct access to car-park from the room – always a plus point for me.
+ Located next to the Viva Shopping Mall.
+ Porters, concierge and restaurant staff were helpful and friendly.
+ Reasonably priced.

Minus points:
- Faulty room keys, we had to exchange keys a total of 5 times during our 2 day stay. The keycard either could not open the room door or get us to our floor. This is atrocious. After the first complaint, the hotel should have taken steps immediately to alleviate the problem. 5 times we had to go to front desk.
- Front desk staff were very unfriendly. Understandable if only 1 person was like that. I encountered 2. Both front desk staff on 28 Feb afternoon did not smile and did not apologize for the faulty room keys. They took my card without a single smile or sorry, did something on the card reader and handed back the keys without a smile or sorry. In the end it still did not work and I had to come back again. My friend who was checking in asked how I was and I replied that I was getting upset. Still no action from the front desk lady. No sorry, no smile, nonchalant. Maybe in their minds, I was the cause of the faulty key-cards?
- No hot water in the shower. I know water rationing is happening in these parts so the hotel could be encouraging us to shower less when the water is cold?
- Toilet couldn’t flush properly towards the end of my stay and no, I did not dump anything inorganic into it.
- Air conditioning was not strong enough so it is warm when you go to bed at about 10pm but gets colder by 2-3 am.

I would not recommend this hotel if you have a bit more to spend to avoid the inconvenience. It is a pity because this hotel has more plus than minus points.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the KL towers. Nice view and no highway noise.
