We stayed at standard room for 1 night. The room is new, clean, spacious and well decorated. It is located above Vivamall so very convenient for dinner and shopping. Breakfast is nice but with limited choices.

We stayed here 4 nights in the standard 'Fire Room'. It was modern, had a tv, big bed and barely any noise so we had a good sleep every night. The rooms were kept very clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. The security is also excellent - guards are always in around the lobby and at the entrance of the hotel.

Being next to a shopping complex is a bonus! (Viva Home) It has a Giant supermarket inside and restaurants upstairs which is where we ate every night - it's open quite late which was awesome.

The only thing that really let's it down is the location, it's a little out of the way so we were paying for cabs into the city and back for the whole stay. I know there is a monorail across the road though, for those who want to take public transport.

Other than that, this is a great hotel choice! + there is a pool/gym!

I really love my experience at vivatel. The employees ate very nice, we have wifi all-over the hotel.

There are a shopping center near to the hotel if you need something more.

You have all near to you. The only problem is the localization. But with a taxi you fix it.

My fiance and I checked in late one night, expecting to only stay in Vivatel 1 night while we looked for another place to stay. However, we were so impressed with the quality of the hotel we ended up staying here the entire week. The room was very nice - very modern and new with a very comfortable bed and great pillows [something I always hope for when travelling.] The TV didnt have very many channels [it rained a few days so this kinda sucked] but everything else was very nice. There is a deposit you have to keep up with, and that was a little annoying - seeing as they would usually take room service out of it automatically. But other than that we had a great time. The breakfast was very good - lots of options and varied day to day [looping back around after a couple of days, but we were fine with that.] Cleaning staff often got confused because we were in most of the day then out in evenings, plus we kept extending our stay, so we often had to call to get them to clean our room, but when cleaned they cleaned very thoroughly. The pool and gym area were great and almost always empty. I would definitely stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your recent stay experience.

It is lovely to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere, cuisine, facilities and services of our hotel; however, we were disappointed to read that our TV Channels not functioning well during your stay. Remedial action has been made to address the concerns highlighted.

We have also taken note on your comment about the room deposit. We are pleased to share that the room deposit is for incidental purpose.

Last but not least, thank you again for sharing your comments on TripAdvisor and we look forward to welcoming you back to Vivatel Luala Lumpur again soon.

I stayed at the hotel during the beginning of December 2013, during my solo trip around South East Asia. This was my experience of the htoel, which obviously would be different for each person who ventures and experiences things differently, so please do read this bearing this in mind.
Service, Quality, Value:
The hotel was really cheap for a 4star hotel and is very modern and has a good atmosphere. It was well furnished, was very comfortable and spacious. Staff were friendly, especially the concierge who gave me excellent tips and advice and supplied me with many, many information books/ maps etc. A wake up call was put for me automatically by staff so I did not miss my early morning flight, and they even arranged a metered taxi for me (as their airport transfer is VERY expensive). I was very impressed with the hotel, the service and especially my room.
Location:
The location of the hotel was not very central to the town, and so, taxi’s are required to go and come which are available although do cost an extra $5USD dollars per trip. There is no complimentary shuttle services and all tours appear hesitant when you tell them where you staying. This should be borne in mind for travellers on a tight budget as additional costs are then borne to travel to the main part of town if one is travelling outside of the MRT hours. The MRT is nearby (10 minute walk) but this involves moving and changing alot of trains to arrive at the KL Sentral. However, KL public transport systems are very efficient and reliable and I had no problems when travelling on them and getting around EVERYWHERE.
Breakfast:
Not included, please note this.
Decor:
Fantastic, very modern and comfortable. Clean and spacious. Well decorated, with excellent views. Comfortable bedding, and luxury style themes and rooms. Really impressive!
Other:
Pictures online are reflective of the residence, so can be relied on. Quality here is valued, so is really great.
Avoid the airport transfer if possible as very overpriced.
Overall:
I would definitely stay here again if I was with family or a partner. It is not the most ideal hotel for the solo traveller, but the hotel has fantastic service, food, and cleans modern space which is perfect.

Room Tip: Ensure you choose a theme floor BEFORE booking. There are many elements depending on your personalit...

Made a few observations after a 5 day stay.
Good:
- Air con works fine, hot water works fine, noise from nearby major roads minimal. Hotel might have had some issues in these area immediately after opening but these appear to have been fixed. Room was clean, staff reasonable friendly.
- Included wi-fi and internet was reasonably fast and reliable
Tips:
- Finding the hotel. Perhaps this hotel expects their target demographic to arrive at the hotel by taxi but for those getting to the hotel by public transport from KLIA or LCCT: Be careful using google maps there are several entries including this one http://bit.ly/1g03TM1 which is on the northwest side of the intersection of Jalan Loke Yew and Jalan Sungai Besi, this is wrong. Fortunately I was able spend a few hours exploring Jalan Loke Yew on foot, the area around Chan Sow Lin and the attractive underpasses underneath the major roads. To get to the hotel take the LRT to Miharja and proceed up the walkway 200m northeast into the south entrance of the mall via the foot bridge, proceed down the escalator in front of the Giant Supermarket.
- Power sockets in the room. The socket for the desk is very artistically integrated into the furniture however oddly does not allow sufficient space to fit any chargers that would be the primary use case for this socket. Fortunately due to the low quality of the components and worksmanship the socket can be pulled up somewhat and rotated 45 degrees to workaround this issue.
- Upon checkin the process for the "pre-authorizing" the credit card deposit ( RM400, an amount not communicated beforehand) is for the staff to write down the credit card number on a piece of paper. While this is very quaint it is 2014 now so it is possible to integrate into various payment gateways without exposing the process to fraud.
- The buffet breakfast was fairly tasteless and not worthwhile, which I assume is by design to minimize costs. Fortunately the hotel is integrated into a mall so there are other options.
Overall fantastic hotel would stay again.
