“great stay compliment by great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

Stayed here for a night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. And we definitely made the right choice. They upgraded us to junior suite in Tower Wing and the receptionist actually escorted us to our room. We were surprised and very happy with the special arrangement they did for us in the room. Not just the normal swans in luv [the one that made from the towel] but they even gave us flower bouquet and heavenly chocolate pops & white choc strawberries…

The room really spacious complete with writing desk, dining table, lounge & vanity area. They prepared few local delicacies "kuih" on the dining table and jelly beans at the lounge area. The layout of the whole room just nicely done. The mattress was quite firm but I managed to get a sleep anyway, thanks to the nice duvet. The bathroom got a nice big bathtub and attached tv. Basic amenities from crabtree & evelyn included.

The buffet dinner was delicious with huge variety from western to japanese, thai, vietnamese and malaysian dishes. But dessert wise quite limited. Not all dishes were named and the chefs seem to be really busy, so I didn't even bother to ask. The service really fast and the waiter just clear your plate as soon as you done.

On the other hand, buffet breakfast provide limited food but enough to fill me up. You can request for roti canai, waffle and pancake and they will prepared it on the spot [Besides the usual egg station]. I saw some dishes same as the dinner before so i wasn't sure whether they reheat it or what but it kind of obvious though.

The swimming pool kind of small but only few people around so we still had great time there. They provide towel, chair cover & mineral water at the entrance so it kind of self service and you take it on your own. No guard around. You can find green apples in the gym and near elevator. Kind of a nice touch.

Overall this is definitely a great hotel but with few improvements it will become an excellence place to stay not just for business but for romantic rendezvous as well.

We returned to The Majestic in December, following our great experience staying there in September 2013.

We stayed in the junior suite this time. The room was huge, and the bed was very comfortable. Slept like a log! The bathroom was fantastic, and the curtain installed provided adequate privacy.

Breakfast was good at Contango, but the service was a little uneven. A little extra training and experience would help.

On this occasion, I discovered the Smokehouse bar, which has a great atmosphere, and open till late.

Location: not within walking distance to KLCC but the shuttle service to Starhill/ Bukit Bintang area delivers you straight into the city centre. There is also a shuttle service to KL Sentral transport hub for airport transfer

Staying at The Majestic Hotel KL was truly a magical experience! The ambience of the hotel and room was breath taking. The room was immaculate, very well designed and facilities were top-notch. Room service was pricey but proven worth it as the food presentation and sets made us feel like royalty.Worth every sen spent!!

We had our set x'mas dinner in the Colonial Cafe at this wonderful hotel. At the start everything was going fine but when we were onto our second course onwards things started to take a dive. We thought ours was the only table that was being sort of neglected but soon realised that there were quite a number of other tables becoming restless too.
My son-in-law soon came to find out that service was being concentrated at only one particular table with a party of more ten people. We came to realise that this particular table was being taken care of in service and also they were not only having the set menu as the rest of us were forced to have BUT were being served a la carte dishes too. Seems a bit of a double standard. We soon gathered from an entertainer that this particular table was the OWNERS of the hotel. It was more than a DOUBLE STANDARD and unethical way to treat other paying customers. At the rate of RM 250.00 and RM350.00 per set we were paying for this was a real let down.
The duration of our entire meal took us more than one and a half hour to complete. We were totally aghast and belittled in comparison as being a paying customer in the way our dinner was handled. We are pretty sure that other customers also shares the same sentiments as us. Majestic hotel, you are a double standard practicing hotel and therefore whatever that one has read in this reviews' corner of this TRIP ADVISOR written by many, not only IS but SEEMS to be entirely true. Keep up your good spirit in managing hospitality.
My advice to all, if you are ever patronising the Majestic Hotel, THINK AGAIN.

Was here for my husband's birthday celebration.

our room was upgraded. it was huge, clean, and we love everything about it.
the front desk called to ask what time should they deliver a birthday cake (on the house).
It was so sweet of them to go to that extra miles for our celebration.

My husband was so surprised when he saw a cake on the table. It was yummy too !
The food spread on the breakfast was limited but delicious.

The staffs were attentive and very helpful.

On the downside, the pool is quite a disappointment and there were no staff/lifeguard available.

Overall, I will recommend this hotel to my friends for their special occasion and will surely come back !

Overall the room layout was good, however the facilities and the breakfast did not hit the right mark.

The swimming pool was small, there was around 10 people in the pool and it seemed it was crowded. There was insufficient deck chairs to accommodate everyone to sit by the pool. No food or drinks were served by the pool and no staff assisting anyone at the pool or the gym.

Breakfast was disappointing:
1. Sat at the table with food for 10 minutes waiting for cutlery. Had to go to take it ourselves
2. Food made was opened from boxes from JW Mariott and plated in public
3. Food which was cooked much earlier was left in the trays for too long and dried out
4. I sat on a table with plates and bowls around the table as the staff are unresponsive and did not clear the tables on time.

Arrived at the hotel in wee hours of the morn and the Front desk exercised the flexibility to offer a special rate of an additional night's stay. Was also upgraded to a Junior Suite at the Tower block. A very good start to the Majestic experience.

The Good.
The Hotel is a majestic colonial splendor to behold. Staff are courteous and professional. The rooms are immaculately designed, clean and very spacious. The beds and pillow are comfortable and sound insulation, top-notch. I had excellent sleeps at the hotel, which was important as I get ready for the next lengthy travel. The bathrooms are large, with a standalone bathtub and La Source toiletries by Crabtree and Evelyn. The bathrooms are fitted with a tv system while you nestle in the much needed hot bath.

The Bad.
The neighbourhood is not the most convenient of places, but the Hotel makes up for it by offering free hourly shuttle services to KL Sentral as well as Starhill properties in the city. The pool is a tad small and shallow, more of a chillout pool than a swimming pool. It is pricey by KL standards, but I'd reckon it is every penny's worth.

I'll be back.
