Stayed here for a night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. And we definitely made the right choice. They upgraded us to junior suite in Tower Wing and the receptionist actually escorted us to our room. We were surprised and very happy with the special arrangement they did for us in the room. Not just the normal swans in luv [the one that made from the towel] but they even gave us flower bouquet and heavenly chocolate pops & white choc strawberries…
The room really spacious complete with writing desk, dining table, lounge & vanity area. They prepared few local delicacies "kuih" on the dining table and jelly beans at the lounge area. The layout of the whole room just nicely done. The mattress was quite firm but I managed to get a sleep anyway, thanks to the nice duvet. The bathroom got a nice big bathtub and attached tv. Basic amenities from crabtree & evelyn included.
The buffet dinner was delicious with huge variety from western to japanese, thai, vietnamese and malaysian dishes. But dessert wise quite limited. Not all dishes were named and the chefs seem to be really busy, so I didn't even bother to ask. The service really fast and the waiter just clear your plate as soon as you done.
On the other hand, buffet breakfast provide limited food but enough to fill me up. You can request for roti canai, waffle and pancake and they will prepared it on the spot [Besides the usual egg station]. I saw some dishes same as the dinner before so i wasn't sure whether they reheat it or what but it kind of obvious though.
The swimming pool kind of small but only few people around so we still had great time there. They provide towel, chair cover & mineral water at the entrance so it kind of self service and you take it on your own. No guard around. You can find green apples in the gym and near elevator. Kind of a nice touch.
Overall this is definitely a great hotel but with few improvements it will become an excellence place to stay not just for business but for romantic rendezvous as well.
