It's one of my favourite hotel apart from the one next door.
Talk about the food, breakfast is good, JP Teres serves very good local food lunch buffet and in the evening 38 has an amazing night view of KLCC with a pleasant live band (sometimes even in a 5 star hotel, you find the band too loud, the songs are not right and can be quite annoying).
I had my buka puasa buffet on the first week, food quality dropped a little bit but overall still OK. On the last week of puasa, I went there again. The food quality wasn't similar to the first buffet visit, satay was slightly overcooked and the seafood corner wasn't that attractive.
During that last buffet visit, when I was about to leave the place, I found out that my purse was missing. Someone took it while I left my bag unattended. I must have been stupid for having such a high confidence and trust that my belongings are safe in this 5* hotel (in fact for the past few times of my visit to this hotel, I left my bag on my seat but it was safe). I reported this incident to the manager. A few of the staffs attended to us and said "this is the first time theft happened". When I asked if the CCTV is able to record it, one security officer said "NO" immediately, and another said "might be, we will check". Well, there were 2 CCTVs at each corner but unable to record, perhaps it is only to safeguard the cashier? When I was about to leave, another staff said: "We will look into this matter, however this is a public place, the hotel won't be responsible on this incident..."
I seriously don't know how shall I react on it. All their replies made me think that it is impossible to locate my purse, I don't even know if they did really look for it and the person who took my purse.
Overall, this is still one of the best hotel in town. Lesson learned. I still recommend Grand Hyatt, just be careful of your belongings.
