The Crib at Bukit Bintang
Reviewed October 22, 2013

We stayed at The Crib for 1 night recently. We had organised a car to pick us up from the airport but it didn't turn up. After 3 calls to The Crib, we caught our own taxi which was fine. It was the Race weekend so there was heaps of traffic getting to the airport so I'm sure the driver just got held up.

You do need to call them on arrival to come down and get you. We didn't have a phone, so our taxi driver let us use his both at the airport and in the apartment foyer. Our room wasn't ready but it was only about midday so we expected that. We left our luggage in their office and hit Times Square! It was a very close walk. During our visit there we also walked to Sungei Wang Plaza and Jalan Alor. As these are our favourite places in KL, we were in the perfect location!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was clean, spacious and perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 children (8, 14). I loved having a washing machine/dryer to catch up on my washing throughout the night. Wifi was not great, but worked ok. Our flight the next day was at night, so we left our luggage in the office all day while we went out and about. We were allowed to use the pool even after checkout so we spent a few hours up there prior to heading back to the airport. The view from the pool is really beautiful and we loved chilling out up there.

Overall, we would stay here again. We would organise our own way from the airport though. I would recommend others to stay here.

Have to call a lady upon arrival. She lead us to to their office up in Level 13.

Have to bring your own luggage. Office got only 2 ladies working.

Got personal request during time of booking but the lady seem confused. Have to check on our own booking paper. They don't have a copy of our booking.

The apartment was nice but DIRTY. And then it got worse. The aircond leaked several times. Almost fell to the floor. TWICE.

Overall, MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Not worth the money. Tune Hotel is 1000 times better.

Have a 2 night continuous stay at The Crib, It was a wonderful experience. Need to call the staff to check in. Security was a plus point as you need the card to access to the lift, which is the only way to enter building. A plus point when I reached. The Crib located at the heart of bukit bintang, we had a coffee at Starbucks just opposite the building and shopping around. So lucky we been there for the great grand sales and had a great discount. So sad that we didn't have time to experience the roof top swimming pool, we will stay again at this place and try the facilities next time. :)

In short, recommended to stay here and remember if you drive you need to pay for the parking tickets as the hotel do not offer free car park. Hope next time they can include in the room rates.

Room Tip: can request higher floor, hotel provide rooms for different floor.

The Crib @ Bukit Bintang is located at the same building as the Fairlane Residences Bukit Bintang, but operated by a different management, (and hence different set of rooms).

Every room is sort of different with it's own design.

An additional advantage of this hotel is the Laundry Washing Machine / Dryer which is available for complimentary use, right within the bathroom.

As for the Cons of this hotel, the management is fairly new when i stayed there (2nd quarter 2013), so not everything is up to mark yet.. such as.. TV channels. But that didn't bother me as i wasn't there for the television in the first place!

Fooled by the great reviews and decided to book this place for a group trip for 1 night. We arrived very early in the morning by coach at 6am and have already called twice before to inform them about this. But the lady in charge was sleeping when we called her mobile which she gave me and asked me to call her when we reached at 6am that morning. She sounded surprised like she has never heard of me before but still came down after 5mins to pick us up.
We all understand that the room was occupied and only avail at 3pm which is the official check in time. So from 6am to 3pm we managed the time on our own nearby. We came back at 3+pm and they looked really flustered, apparently the previous guest didnt check out on time and we had to wait somemore until 5+pm to finally check in.
We booked the 2bedroom apartment and it was stated 2 bathrooms. Not true cos it has only 1 shower area so 6 of us had to take turns using it while rushing for our next appointment. The staffs gave us free wifi & 20% off room rate due to the long wait but wifi was not very strong at all. We gave up using it.
The worst was when we discovered baby cockroaches appearing non-stop at the kitchenette area and at 3am in the middle of the night, a huge 15cm mother of all cockroach was at the bathroom sink that we had to battle with it ourselves cos we tried to call the staffs but they only work from 9am-6pm so noone answered our calls for help. We asked the staff about it next morning and she seemed to know about this issue but don't seem to know what to do about it and just kept apologising to us which was too late.
The entire buildings security is a big joke also that only allows holders of the lift card to reach 1 level. We only allowed 1 card which is totally ridiculous! We tried our best to be understanding to their short staffing and many inadequacies but the cockroach issue was the last straw to make this 1 night stay a totally terrible one we've ever experienced.

Good point: Great location to Bukit Bintang area. Pool is nice and comfortable.

We had a two bedroom apartment. Very new and clean. Serviced apartments. It has a full kitchen as well as a washing machine/ dryer which was much needed with small children. It was in a great location and a very short walk to the monorail, Lot 10, Sungei Wang, the free purple and green bus lines, Jalan Alor and Jalan Bukit Bintang. The crown jewel for us was the roof top pool! A fantastic place to unwind after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. There was a great childrens pool and it was never crowded. We would stay there again. We didn't eat at the restaurant but walked past and it didn't look any good. Just walk around the block to the park royal and enjoy the buffet breakfast there. It was excellent value! They provided an infant cot free of charge and it appeared new and never used. Just be warned if you love WIFI, it is not available here nor is satellite tv. This did not worry us as we were out all day or using the pool.

Room Tip: We had room 13-3A which was awesome!

I spent 8 nights in kualu Lumpur and stayed at The Crib at Bukit Bintang based on tripadvisor and suggestions from local friends... The conection from the airport to the hotel is quite simple using a taxi, its about 35-45 minutes drive from KL Airport... The hotel is located in the heart of KL city centre, with plenty of eateries and coffee shops. The hotel has a nice pool with a basic modern gym... Our apartment was surprisingly big, we had a 2 bedroom apartment, which had a good sized bathroom, huge bedrooms, kitchenette and washer/drier... it looked just like the website/pictures posted online.

Overall, an excellent experience and a real value for money. Would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone.
