“Decent budget accomodation in KL Sentral”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

This hotel is located in Jalan Tun Sambanthan area of KL(Brickfields or Little India). Though it's a crowded area, the hotel is located in a corner,so somewhat quieter inspite of the busy street. If you are touring most of the day and want a good night's sleep at budget price, this hotel is for you. The rooms without windows are pretty small and stuffier but clean. The rooms with windows are airy. Rooms have split AC,clean sheets,safe-locker and kettle with coffee/tea making provisions. The hotel provides a complimentary biscuit gift pack and bottled water daily. Fridge is not there. Laundry facility available. Instead of soap, shampoo satchets, there is a liquid soap and shampoo dispenser in the bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful. They guide us about city attractions and also arrange Taxi for city tour if needed(35RM per hour). Breakfast is not provided but there are several restaurants providing Indian and Malay food near the hotel. Since it is near KL Sentral, you can commute to public attractions using public transport. The hotel is just 10 RM (taxi) away from Pudu Central where buses for Penang and Singapore start. Saravana Bhavan restaurant is just 10 minutes away. There is a Buddhist temple and a couple of Hindu temples nearby. There are many Indian shops nearby and also convenience stores. Good location, decent and ideal for the budget traveller. Safe for families too.

Room Tip: Choose bigger room with window at higher floors

The hotel itself is quite nice with a fairly big room, flat screen tv, big modern bathroom and a kettle. The problem was our lack of sleep. We were kept awake until at least 3am by the music in the street and the person above us watching tv ( although I rang reception three times they didn't quite understand English well enough). We were then woken at 6am by the building works next door, then at 8am by two members of staff having a casual (very loud, indian) chat outside our door! No sleep, would not stay here again!

Let me start off by saying that the hotel is very average. It was probably very nice when it newly opened its doors but after some time the grim had settled in the cheap plastic bathroom door corners, the window sills, under the tv, the tv cabinet and even the towels are cheap and they mismatch. They provide liquid soap and shampoo from a dispenser in the shower stall and the TV have some decent channels to browse, although they were mainly south Indian movies and soap channels. The room we had was on the 3rd floor, if memory serves me right it was room 302. try to ask for rooms at the back and the side because the rooms at the front has to endure noise from the street and the restaurants at night

It's a hotel in a great location. If you can take in the small "details" in the rooms then you will find your stay here averagely good. Oh, and they do provide a generous bag of assorted biscuits(with creams, wafers, plain, chocolate flavored, etc) I think it's an Indian thing, because they always like to dip biscuits in their tea and coffee

The hotel is run by a bunch of made in India Indians, they don't speak English very well, and they don't understand or speak Malay at all so you will have to use hand language.

The rooms were reasonably priced; RM 130 a night plus RM 20 deposit which is refundable upon exit. You better get the superior or something bigger, the price difference is only RM 10 or 20 because the standard rooms don't have windows at all

Room Tip: high floor, away from the street

Travelers to KL generally prefer staying around KL Sentral. KL Sentral is the heart of KL from where most part of KL is connected.

This hotel is very conveniently located near KL Sentral and comes as a good budget choice. My overnight stay was convenient and the hotel room was clean, practical and convenient. Even though the hotel is a renovated version of an old hotel, never gives a patchy feeling. The bathrooms were clean and the towels were neat and smelled good. The complimentary biscuits and wafers in the room came as a blessing in disguise when we were hungry.

Considering that this is a budget hotel, it does not have a swimming pool or any other facilities that are offered by the costlier hotels. Nevertheless, the WiFi on each floor is awesome.

On the whole, it is one of the better budget hotels in Little India (Brickfields), in KL.

Room Tip: If someone is looking for a non city view and non noisy room, do ask for a room without any windows...

Rooms are not that spacious, but no complaints, for that price hotel is nicely maintained.
Great location, very close proximity to KL Sentral. Lot of indian restaurants on the stretch.. You can walk a bit towards scot villa to Chappati House, very delicious north india food.

Internet is very good and staff is friendly. Also very close proximity to Sarvana Bhavan.
