“Couldn't fault this place - excellent personable service and rooms”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Arrived early and was advised that an early check in was not a problem. Waiting in the lobby area with welcome complimentary cold juice (nice touch!). Wifi already worked in the lobby without having to log in. Reception staff advised that all the twin bed rooms were booked out so they upgraded us to a top floor family suite. We were shown to our rooms and our luggage followed.. and wow! It was basically like a large two bedroom apartment with centralised aircon, two separate twin beds, living area, dining area, master bedroom and full kitchen, not to mention a bathroom which was even larger than the hotel room we stayed at a few days earlier in Singapore.. After half an hour we received a call from reception just asking us if everything was ok - we appreciated this personable touch. We received vouchers for food and drinks which we availed of (food was great and drinks at Luna Bar were wonderful: great view of Petronas). The Hotel is quite far from the shopping centres (about 1km walk or just over) however, it is just under a 10myr taxi ride away (the concierge arrange the taxi so you don't get ripped off and the drivers go by the metre). If you try to catch a taxi back from Bukit Bintang, the drivers will insist on a flat rate of 20-25myr... While not as close as other hotels to the shopping mall, I'd still choose to stay at this hotel again, simply for the service and quality of rooms.

I stayed at this hotel 3 years ago. Service then was excellent, furniture were chic and impressive. I came back again due to great service and hotel l standard, however I am very disappointed. I paid RM1020 for 2 nights stay in a 1 bedroom apartment on the 24th floor, which is very expensive for the standard I received on this trip, definitely not value for money, especially there are renovations going on everywhere in the building, early in the morning there are hammering happening right above my room disturbing my sleep.

The bedroom is poorly furnished, the TV in the living room was a 32 inch TV, but I was shocked to see a tiny LCD TV on an expansive table. In that sense is this a proper furnishing design? The bathtube is shallow and small (it has the only shower head in the room with hot water). The shower and the tap although showed that it can be turned for hot water, no hot water came out at all - bad maintenance of the building.

3 years ago, the hotel were using Thanns toiletries products and welcomed me with chocolates on the bed. But today, they dropped their standard to cheap hotel shampoo and lotions. Totally not the 1st class experienced that I had 3 years ago. Furthermore the swimming pool water was murky and dirty. I have totally embarrassed myself as I deliberately chose this hotel to have a impressive vacation with my friend and was treated with such an experience.

Please review your standard if you want to charge people such price! I am never coming back to this place!

The Pacific Regency Hotel Suites, in Kuala Lumpur, represent fantastic value for money.
The rooms themselves are spacious, light and have commanding views to the city.
Jewel in the crown is the refurbished Luna Bar and pool area on the roof which has excellent 360 degree views to klcc and the petronas towers.
This will be our 3rd stay and its like a home from home for £100usd per night

The Hotel is a short walk to all amenities and the is an abundance of taxi at the doorstep.
Best of all was the service, which really pound for pound knocks our western hotels for six.

Room Tip: they are all good rooms

Nice staff, excellent location, nice suites, very good room service ... just not much to add to the other reviews.
Breakfast could be a bit more diversified.
Just one thing that is disturbing: the terrible and loud music (is it music at all? I would rather call it very cheap techno) at the pool. They should rather play some nice lounge music so that people can relax.

Room Tip: Due to the noise coming from the pool (33rd floor), the farther down the better!

Location is good, walking distance to KLCC and monorail station.
Suite has 5 star areas (big room, bathroom, kitchen and living room).
It is all clean.
Swimming pool in the rooftop and has nice views.
Not overpriced.

Decoration and comfort are just 4 stars, quit dark not welcoming.
The suite has a strange and “heavy” smell.
Breakfast was good but 4 stars not 5 stars, ends at 10am.
The staff is ok, but not friendly.
Swimming pool was looking not as maintain as it should.
Wireless connection was not working and the staff still tried to make us believe that the problem was with our smartphone, when we were always hearing other visitors making the same complains. In the last days we could access the wireless but it was to week so not helpful…

Not the best option in Kuala Lumpur, there are better for lower prices…

We stay in a comfortable room at the 32-nd floor. The view over the Kuala Lumpur is excellent from that floor, we were facing the 2 famous towers. The breakfast was good, even if you do not like the Asian food you find something on your taste.

But what we liked most was the location: Just near the KL Tower, at walking distance from everything. By the way, do not go visiting the KL Tower (or the television tower), it is a tourist trap. We went in the evening planning to make photos, but it was impossible because they have shops at the top level, and the light from the shops is reflected by the glass in the camera lens. We also made a complain asking for our money back, but they did not. They just said that everybody is complaining. So do not waste your time and money visiting the KL Tower.

This is my second stay in the room of "Executive Suite" at this "Pacific Regency Hotel Suites" as this time for 15 days on 2012 July. The room is spacious (960 sq. ft/89 sq. meter) with a kitchenette. Walk in shower with a separate bath tub is nice. Safe is inside of a room. A daily newspaper and 2 complimentary drinking water bottles are provided. If I asked a front desk by a phone call something, for example, room lamps put out to be replaced, in spite of taking a long time for 20 minutes, they were willing to react to my request. Reading some reviews, "lousy" or negative comments were found, for myself, their customer service with friendly smiles were acceptable. But it depends on you how you feel about the customer service.

"Free Wi-Fi" username and password is provided by a receptionist. As of the middle of 2012 July, there were a lot of network problems and shut down so often that I needed to contact the reception desk to fix it even in the night. Information Technology (IT) Manager was attentive but every a few hours the same problem occurred. Not a few guests complained about this issue.

"KL Twin Tower" and "KL Tower" are front view at the "Executive Suite" room, though single tower only of "Twin Tower" can be seen due to the location. A modern shopping mall named as "Suria KLCC" in"KL Twin Tower" is accessible by Taxi for 7 minutes ride from the Hotel entrance. You can also go by walking, but it is too hot for me.

Though the fare of blue color "Executive Taxi", which is "metered" and only called by a hotel staff is double as the red normal taxi, it is safer. RM 10-15 (US$ 3.25-4.90)is normal but you can ask the driver to drop off at "Louis Vuitton" side and it is nearer from the hotel so it is cheaper.

If you don't like the double charge, you can go outside of the hotel and catch a regular red color taxi. But very frequently, the taxi drivers are not willing to use the meter and you need to haggle the fare with them. But If by meter, it is only RM 5-10 (US$ 1.63-3.26). From hotel to the KL airport, pre-paid taxi is RM 150 (US$ 49.00)

On return, some drivers do not know this "Pacific Regency Hotel". Then you can tell them "KL Tower", because "KL Tower" and the hotel entrance is side by side.

By walking, you need to have gone up the steep hill for 3 minutes in hot from the main street because the hotel is located on the way of the slope.

Self laundry is RM20 (US$ 6.53) including the complimentary detergent/softer, dryer and purchased at the front desk. There're only 2 machines.

Though there're numerous positive reviews about the Thai restaurant "Soi 23" inside of the hotel, personally I know more delicious and better ambience restaurants. Customer service for me is good, instead.

The noise of the construction work can be heard as of now.

Since feeling comfortable for my stay for 15 days, I will be returning to this hotel again soon.

Room Tip: Higher floor is better to see the nice view.
