“My first experience of service apartment”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

This was my first ever stay at a service apartment and was not sure what to expect.
The room/apartment we stayed at, did not really live up to the expectation. Although the rooms in our apartment was well decorated & featured, cleanness was a very big concern. The condition the toilet & bathroom was in was terrible.
Other than its location (the market, theme park & huge choice of restaurants/food court) in the lower floors, I do not really see any plus point for Berjaya Times Square Hotel.
I will certainly look for some other place in my next visit to KL.

The staff were very friendly and gave us a free upgrade without me having to ask for it. There is plenty of security and its in a good location. The hotel is a bit aged but it is definitely comfortable and has an old classy style about it.

After two weeks diving in NW Thailand we break the journey home with a stop in KL to catch up with friends, visit our favourite restaurants and shop (well perhaps not the whole family shopping).
With 2 adults and 2 teenagers we're always looking for a hotel that works on location and price, and one that provides an extensive buffet breakfast for the teenagers. Researching online some months in advance we found 60 day specials on the Berajaya website and knowing the hotel was part of the Times Square complex and connected via walk ways to a lot of the other shopping destinations on the list we contacted the hotel directly and discussed the room types, the views and the breakfast. Once we had ticked all the boxes we went back online and took advantage of the special pre paid pricing - 2 bedroom suite with kitchen and living room plus breakfast for 4 nights (4 people) A$1,100 (Jan)

The buffet breakfast was great - massive spread covering Asian, Arabic through Western, cereal, egg station, pastries, salads, cut meats, smoothie shooters on arrival, my favourite Roti Canai and much more. On our last morning we were leaving as the breakfast room opened (6.00 a.m) but they let us into the executive floor breakfast room as this opens 30 minutes earlier and we were able to grab a quick bite before the taxi to the airport.

The best tower block to be in is the main tower (same as reception/breakfast restaurant) and any high corner room will give you great views across the city - in fact get as high as you can just for the views.

The rooms are a bit tired but they are working their way through a renovation - we got an old room (perhaps that was the price deal) however the beds were comfortable and all the fixtures worked. The soft furnishings in the living room where filthy but with some cajoling we had these replaced the next day - we ignored the stains on the carpet (wear the slippers, the price and the view made up for it).

The staff were very helpful once you connect - take it slowly and keep it simple and you'll get everything you need - and smile.

The pool is large and situated between the two tower blocks so is over looked but at the end of a days shopping (and pre happy hour) its a good spot to chill.

The access to Times Square is simply through the lobby and you can cover large areas of Bukit Bintang from covered walk ways connected to Times Square - shopping and eating unlimited.

For those that like local street food there is a kopi shop across the road (out of the lobby by the fountain, turn left and it's 100 m on the right - ask the doorman) serving roti canai, nan and tandoori chicken with fruit punch and teh terak for approx. MR$1 - 3 per dish.

Overall a great family destination in KL that we will happily use again.

Room Tip: The main tower block (above reception) is the most convenient. The higher the room the better the vi...

Berjaya Times Square is the perfect hotel for a stay in Kuala Lumpur.
The shopping centre has many restaurants and eateries inside, so you don't have to go far to get a good meal.
If you do want to venture out, Jalan Alor is within easy walking distant.
The rooms are clean and have everything you need.
The pool is big, which seems to be rare if you want to stay in the bukit bintang area.
This was our second stay, we will definitely return.

Room Tip: Save money and buy breakfast from somewhere in the shopping centre. The buffet breakfast at the hote...

We stayed with our 2 young boys who were welcomed and entertained by the very friendly staff. The large rooms were clean and modern. We enjoyed the use of the hotel facilities including the pool, playground and restaurant. These were all of high quality and well maintained. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and stay here again ourselves.

My family love Berjaya Time Square Kuala Lumpur. It's location is so convienient, next to Bukit Bintang area, walking distance to many shopping malls and eateries. The monorail station is just on the ground floor. Room is equipped with kitchenette and dinning area.
