Check in was friendly and I was pleasantly surprised to be allowed into my room at the extremely early check in time of 6am! The room was pretty standard for a 5 star hotel, and was not very big. The Gym was a decent size and well-equipped with a range of machines. The hotel was well-located near 2 light rail stations on different lines, close to the CBD.

This hotel is strategically located downtown near to the KL Rapid train, near to KL City, and close to the CBD. The hotel is reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly. Stay in the West Wing, the rooms are better value for money. They have a great 50 Meter pool.

Room Tip: West wing is better value for money

Great room, great customer service, a beautiful pool, and a breakfast buffet, too. No complaints about our eight-night stay in KL. The concierge helped us select two tours, and we used the hop-on hop-off bus to see the city. Stop number 1 is minutes from the hotel, and you can get off at any or all of the 23 stops.

Room Tip: Request highest available level

Stayed at Renaissance on our way back from the UK for 2 nights. Service from the very beginning wasn't as welcoming and polite as other KL hotels I have stayed at. We were again in the club levels and the club lounge was a joke. No staff to serve the several times we went at night. The juices were all bottled juices and not freshly squeezed. I didnt have breakfast there as i doubt they would have had the variety available in the normal breakfast downstairs.
On my last night I ordered room service, never mind the 45minute wait, my medium-well steak was rare-bordering blue. The gentleman who brought it up wreaked like old sweat. I was totally disgusted and turned off by it. The milkshake really wasn't worth the money. And when I called downstairs and got the dish changed to an asian dish, they called me back and said asian kitchen is closed. Then minutes later they told me its open. Had a horrible experience. The lifts are small and always smell like food. The hotel has no perfume being sprayed or any scents being burnt or any aroma being ciruclated. I think the Renaissance in KL has got old and the quality standards have dropped. My room was the exact same size as other rooms 14 floors down so that was a bummer. If you are thinking about staying at Renaissance I would advice you not to, spend an extra 100 or 200 and go to another five star hotel (we were in the West wing), try Istana or Sheraton, or Shangri La.

The rooms had the usual amenities such as iron and safe. The rooms were dull and very woody. I think the whole hotel needs a refurbishment including their service. However the very first lady at the reception we met was the best.

Very clean and comfortable. Swimming pool is as good as it looks, and the hotel has 3 or 4 restaurants, one of them specialising in Japanese food.

It's only a 10 minute walk from the Petronas Towers and 30 minutes by taxi from the airport.

Overall a very good hotel for business.

Room Tip: Go for a room facing the Petronas Towers, or upgrade to a club room, which includes wine & beer...

Nice Hotel, try and get the west wing of the hotel, they are older rooms, even the delux rooms were dated......but large rooms, great for families. They need to redo furniture in the rooms, the furniture is aged, the AC unit was not cool at all, whatever we lower the temperature to, we did complain however nothing happened , they need to put the correct photos of the room on the various booking websites, the rooms look nothing like the photos, even the toilets refused to flush........
Breakfast was good, great location, close to everything

Room Tip: might need to get an upgraded room
