“Brilliant Location and a wow of a hotel”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Sat in my room the night before I'm due to leave and really sad to be checking out tomorrow.... My experience is as follows:
Brilliant Location, east or west wing, you have Pertonas Tower or KL Tower views... lovely clean rooms with the usual crisp clean sheets you'd expect and an evening turndown service, not sure if they do that on all rooms though ... Anyway, the housekeeping staff can't do enough for you.
Concierge, full of knowledge and gave loads of tips making our trip into local terrain even more extraordinary. Restaurants, wow... Loads of choices and different types of food / menus - all price ranges too from what I saw. brilliant poolside menus too.. Whoever would think of a metre hotdog dish.. Went down well with families though... Didn't eat Japanese but ate Chinese, all the restaurants and chef have varying awards and i can see why... Staff helpful and go over and above to assist... credit to whoever it is that trains them... Hotel was especially prettily dressed with Christmas decorations and a matching Christmas atmosphere all over the hotel. A massive pool and loads of beds, although the hotel was near on full, didn't seem crammed due to the space available as in a lot of hotels. saw some beautiful meeting rooms where weddings were taking place... Can see why this hotel is popular for weddings, the food, service and attentiveness for one would make me get married there...lots of the meeting rooms and restaurants have the lovely Petronas towers as a backdrop... How romantic / unique is that and unlike any Paris hotel overlooking say the Eiffel Tower, you don't have to pay an arm and leg to be a part of it. Also has lovely public areas and lots of seating / dining choices - oh and the metro on the doorstep makes it easy to get around KL twice as quick as I recall the kast time here. Definately a good choice of hotel..

Room Tip: KL tower or Petronas view or if you book a function there, definitely a Petronas view

Good staff, very nice rooms, fast internet (which is free if you sign up for their loyalty card). Was undergoing minor refurbishment in the lobby when I visited (Dec 2012) but nothing too disruptive. Walking distance to Petronas towers and convenient for monorail, metro, KL tower, etc (although of course only crazy foreigners like me actually walk anywhere in this car-mad country). Large breakfast buffets in two restaurants. The only negative that is this is a vast hotel and so feels very impersonal. A Malaysian colleague who has to come to KL regularly always uses this hotel (after trying many others) - that's a good recommendation.

We stayed in the Renaissance in Novemeber and were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Lifestyle suites. The room was awesome,we had views overlooking the Patrona towers. The room itself was very luxurious and had an awesome shower with a screen that came up so you could see the towers from the bathroom. The bed was so compfy. The service was fantastic and we had use of the lifestyle lounge with yummy food and drinks daily. The staff could not be more helpful. We had a great time and would definatley go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the lifestyle rooms. Had everything you need and great decor. If you can book a...

Fantastic hotel. They don't skimp on amenities. You are not treated like a criminal unlike Novotel Phuket. They genuinely care about your comfort. The only reason I give a 3 overall is that I specifically requested and paid for interleading rooms in the east wing due to excellent views of petronas towers but was given rooms in west wing with no views I complained and was promised I will be moved but no one got back to throughout my entire stay.

I have stayed with my wife in Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel for few nights on OCT 2012
The room was cleaned (not pristine though) and facilities OK .
The hotel is walking distance to PETRONAS Towers (you need to book at least one day in advance early morning) and Hard Rock Cafe
I've got airline discount therfore cannot complain about room rate.

Had a great 5 night stay here with my family. We had 2 interconnecting rooms which were great. Super comfort and attentive staff. Room service was super quick, good pool and very good gym with a massive range of machines and free weights. Good location next to bukit nanas and walking distance to klcc suria. Only downside were the elevators which kept miss behaving and no recognizing your card, it was a bit hit and miss.

I stayed at this hotel for one night on the recommendation of a friend who stayed there a few years ago. I was very disappointed by the condition of the hotel and the rooms. The room was very run down, with frayed carpet and various fixtures such as lamps in a state of disrepair.

There were a couple of positive points: the gym is EXCELLENT, as is the pool area.

Unfortunately, the bad far outweighed the good and I would not stay in the hotel again until significant improvements are mad.

For the price paid (approx $170AUD per night), much better options exist in KL.

Room Tip: "Stay elsewhere" would be the best advice I can give.
