Great location in Bukit Bintang area. We were given a higher floor with nice view. From our hotel, we walked anywhere for shopping and eating. Very short walk to the "monorail" that will take you to KL Sentral, and then the train to take us to KLCC. The hotel staff are very friendly, both reception, porters and concierge. They are willing to give you any information you need to explore the city and made your stay enjoyable. The buffet breakfast was great, plenty of varieties of food to choose from. We definitely will stay there again anytime, if we ever get the opportunity to visit KL in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor for good view.

I stayed at Hotel Royal with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary & found all the facilities we had were excellent. Prior to our arrival the hotel Management was informed our visit & through out our stay (3 nights) we were treated exceptionally good & personally (not to mention the surprises). It was really wonderful & with the highest standard. We had a night flight from Brisbane, Australia & arrived at the hotel at about 7.30 in the morning, but had no trouble with early check-in. I've been in Kl many times but lot of hotels wouldn't like do this.

We had an Executive Deluxe King Room on the level 20. The floor & rooms are newly renovated & providing more than four star standard. The comfortable king bed, beddings, A/C, flat screen TV, bath (Rain Shower) , toilet facilities & the view of Twin Tower / KL Tower at night are few items to mention. The buffet Breakfast is more Asian / Indian oriented but tasty & colourful. The hotel staff are friendly , polite & helpful. 20th floor room service is excellent & nothing to complain for.

The location is the other best thing - any time of the day is handy & safe. We were in & out from the hotel even after mid night. Eventhough we were told to expect some disturbance during the daytime due to hotel renovation, but we personally had no trouble. Once all the renovations are completed, this Hotel Royal KL in Bukit Bintang would be one of the best amoung 4 + star.

We would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful Hotel Royal KL to anyone travel to KL. Go there, try & enjoy. All my friends & work colleagues will be told & would stay here in the future no doubt. Next time, in the near future we will come with our two teenage children & stay at Hotel Royal. I;m sure they are too will enjoy here specially at the hotel Pool side.

Once again we thank the Management of the Hotel Royal KL, personally Ms. Carol & Mr. Gan, & look forward to visit & stay there.

Room Tip: Pay bit more & ask for Executive Deluxe Room at higher floor.

If location is all you want, this is the hotel for you. The hotel is in the middle of a facelift with the change of hands. It's hidden on a side street opposite Lot 10 and enclaves with many shopping centers, including the BB Plaza, the Fahrenheit 88, the Low Yat Plaza, the Starhill Gallery,the Pavilion and many other shops. You are practically swamped with shops.

The room is spacious but the decor is old and does need some work to upgrade. Though the wifi did not work for major part of a day, they provide free wifi for the 1st 3 days of your stay. The bed is comfortable but the room cleaning is just not there. The fridge in the room was stained with some reddish and brown leftover and the electric kettle had water in it when I checked in the room. Not what I had expected to get from the hotel in that location, if they were to pull up their reputation, they need to do more than that.

The front desk is ok and the doormen open the door for you whenever they feel like it.

The buffet breakfast is average as juice is too watery though, they baked their own pastries and buns. Variety of western food is quite limited but lots of noddles and rice. The staffs are passable but lack enthusiasm in their job.

A young gentleman who works in concierge do need to be commended. He is pleasant,helpful but very amiable. As the monorail is a few steps away, so getting around to places is quite convenient.

Room Tip: They are in the middle of renovation so I do not think they have all the floors ready. Ask for a roo...

• Currently Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur is undergoing renovation for both of our hotel’s rooms and facilities but it will be carried out with few phases and it is scheduled to be completed by end of 2013 or early 2014. At this moment, we have renovated all of our Executive Deluxe rooms which located on 19th and 20th Floor and also few floors of our Deluxe Rooms.

• We apologize for the unpleasant experience you have encountered in your room and have spoken to Housekeeping to ensure all rooms are clean before allowing our guests to check in.
• For the unpleasant experience you encountered at our lobby, the Management of Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur sincerely apologize on behalf of our employees and there is no excuse for such service standard in Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur. We have spoken to our Front Office Manager to monitor on our employees attitude and ensure that all of our guests are treated with warm and friendly hospitality.

Haven't stay here for a long time (last stay here would be 10 years ago). Booked this hotel due to the renovated rooms and reasonable room rates compared to other hotels in Bukit Bintang.

Renovated rooms are as good as new; clean and crisp design. I checked under the bedsheets and even the mattress is also new (unlike some 5 star hotel which only renovated the room). The difference between the old and new is obvious in the lobbies when the lift stopped at un-renovated floors. If you stay here make sure you get the new rooms.

Wife is very happy shopping around the various malls within walking distance. Plenty of street food and restaurants too around the area.

Reception people are attentive and cheerful even at busy times.The doorman is very helpful to bring our bags when we arrive and when we depart the hotel. He even helped to arranged for a city taxi when we feel that the hotel limo is more expensive.

I have been a patron of this hotel since Coronade days. Let me just review of my last visit, as always location is the main reason.

The lobby is smallish, due to limited space, this is not the type of hotel you expect a grandeur lavish lobby but everything is correctly placed. The front office staffs were efficient. the concierge were helpful enough too.

The renovation was still going on, they do the job well, information sheet was present at the room informing this. So if you plan to stay in the room in the day time, expect to be disturbed, but if you spend most of the day outside and return only after 5pm, it's alright

Buffet breakfast is alright nothing changed much since few years.

I will surely stay here again but very much look forward to see when the complete renovation is done, hopefully they will put new and fresh decoration of the rooms, little change at the bathroom and raise up the services too.

we chose hotel royal kuala lumpur for 1 reason and 1 reason alone - the executive deluxe room promotion. it was a bit pricey but given the list of "freebies" one gets, i booked through the hotel's website. here's what we got: buffet breakfast for 2 persons - check. late checkout until 3pm - check. request for a high floor, non smoking room with a view of the petronas towers - check with a slight note on the view - we didn't get the view of the petronas but we got the kl tower instead which was nice. here's what we got, sort of: welcome drinks - check, but not exactly. we were never offered the welcome drinks. as a matter of fact, if i didn't ask them that during my checkout, i wouldn't have gotten my "welcome" drinks, i got my "farewell" drinks though. complimentary mini bar - check, though apparently, it was only a one time deal and once you have consumed the 1 can of coke, 1 can of sprite, 1 can of 100+ and some packs of nuts, that was it. here's what i didn't get: complimentary internet service, fruit basket, turndown service. it wasn't advertised, but if we were supposed to get free newspaper, we never did though we asked for it. the location was great, the breakfast was ok - the service staff there were good but that's about it. that was my 1st trip to malaysia. i paid for executive deluxe and i should have gotten everything that was advertised. had i known this would happen, i should have booked the deluxe room instead or stayed at another hotel altogether :(

Room Tip: if you choose room 1901, you'd have a great view of the kl tower

Please see the following feedbacks on your comments:

• According to the reports from Housekeeping Department, the Turn Down Service was done during the second night of your stay. Unfortunately, our Housekeeping associates were unaware of the room occupancy during the first night because of your late arrival, which should not really be an excuse. As they assumed that the room was not occupied, they did not provide the Turn Down Service. We have spoken to the Housekeeping Department to ensure that a Turn Down Service is provided to all Executive Deluxe Room guests regardless of checking-in time.

• We apologize for the unpleasant experience you encountered during your stay in our hotel. We have been providing Complimentary Internet Services, Refills for Mini Bar, Welcome Drinks and Fruit Baskets for our Executive Deluxe Room guests. However we had a technical glitch during that period that caused the alert that would have reminded individual departments to provide the above services failed. Our IT specialist had resolved the issue and the system is now running smoothly.
