The place is very busy and croud, location of hotel very strategic. You can find almost anything around this hotel,'warong' behind the hotel, hypermall infront and beside. The housekeeping crew in the hotel very often to serve and check for any need and comments, very good but sometimes annoying when you forgot to put DND outside doors knob..must go there next time. Bellboy crew very helpfull.

I'm not sure if it is a good practice for a hotel that wants to rebrand itself to do it halfway... Just in the case of Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur.

Check-in
It was already evening when I checked-in, there is another guests who were checking-in in front of me but there were enough receptionists manning the counter. Check-in process was pretty swift and I was assigned to a room on 12th floor. What is rather shocking for guests who don't know the hotel's history is the keycard and welcome card are still under "Hotel Coronade" brand while "Hotel Royal" sign is clearly displayed in the facade of the hotel.

Room
The deluxe room features either a king size bed or two single beds. The room is of decent space, not too crammed, and has very good layout. The highlight including vanity area that leads to the bathroom, well-stocked wardrobe with iron/ironing board, plasma TV, tea/coffee making facilities. However, safe box are of small size (not laptop-sized safebox which is a norm these days), minibar was not stocked and left in off condition (which emanates fungus and unpleasant smell), and light switches and control panel besides the bedroom were showing wear and not all in uniform condition (e.g. one light switch is in red colour, the other one is black colour). Another interesting observation is the hotel still mixing the stationary item that bear the logo of previous name: Hotel Coronade, starting from guests comment card, envelope, to notepad. Unlike other reviewer, my room appeared to be clean and bedsheet has no stain on it. Complimentary newspaper was delivered under the door in the morning.

Bathroom
Amenity kits inside the bathroom also still bear "Hotel Coronade" brand. The bathroom is pretty spacious with a sink, a toilet, and glass shower stall. However, the renovation on the bathroom is done halfway, resulting in new marble walls and tiles combined with old tiles in the shower stall and toilet seat cover is of not matching colour with the toilet bowl (the toilet bowl is white while the cover is yellowish). Such little details is definitely overlooked by the management and leave bad impression on hotel guests.

Check-out
Check out was quick and hassle free. Staff are generally courteous but it's more of professionalism spirit rather than giving the guests a sincere feeling.

Verdict
The management is not serious enough to rebrand the hotel. This reflects in the usage of old hotel's name references on items throughout the property. Not sure if the step is taken to safe cost or other reason, but it is clearly delivering a confused marketing for the guests... No wonder taxi counter at KL Sentral is clueless when you mentioned the name "Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur"...

Room Tip: The rooms at this hotel does not really have a decent view as it is surrounded by other high-rise bu...

I am not sure where the 4star rating comes from. Rooms are dated with suspicious carpet stains. There are no a/c temperature control except fan speed control. Bad sound proofing from street noise outside especially from the live band from the bar across the street which played till midnight sometimes. Wifi is not free even at the lobby or communal area! I've been in better 3 star hotels with better sound proof windows, better rooms with free wifi. I would not return to this hotel next time.

We got the summit room from the hotel website.
Wifi is 40 MYR/hour and 50/2 hours
Breakfast is not included.
Parking is 10 MYR per stay.
Furniture in room is sooo old like it came from a flea market.
Carpets are stained and old. Bathroom is big in the summit room but boring. Doesn't feel like you are in a 4 star hotel. It is tired looking

Very expensive for just one night. The service is ok, the people were very kind. The only thing that was not so clean in the hotel room was the bed. There were dots of yellow-ish brown things on the mattress and a few hair from the past stayers. And it was also freezing cold. It's location is good. But hotel rooms to expensive.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on the way home. Chosen mainly for its location. Location is excellent, right opposite Sungei Wang.
The hotel is freezing. Both of us caught colds. We had to keep getting up and down all night to either turn air con off or back on. You couldnt adjust the temperature in the room. Everywhere is freezing in this hotel even the lobby.
Room comes with 2 skinny pillows (1 each). Asked for 2 more, they sent up one more. Had to go to reception in the morning and complain. Still didnt want to give us 1 more pillow. Eventually they agreed to give us one more pillow. Very poor service on the hotels behalf.
We didnt enjoy our stay here. All over having to argue for an extra pillow. Its not good to freeze and go home sick, just because you cant adjust the air con in your room.
The hotel was not value for money, get better service at other hotels in KL, for less cost.
