After Check out from Federal Hotel and hoping that Dorsett is better but is not to the expectation as 4star .
Not even 10mins, I open tap water from the sink the water is leaking like raining in the room.
Call operator and operator connect me to HK and the staff apologies to me and send a technician to the room.
While he trying to fix the pipe my friend downstairs wanted the additional key for the room.
I understand the security reason and the staff at reception male guy call me for security check and request me to come down
to reception but I told him I just check in and the pipe was leaking and the technician in room so I told the receptionist
to do copy card as I feel not safe to leave the technician alone in the room and come to lobby.
The male receptionist was quite rude and he very concern about the key card saying that makesure I returnback the card.
At last he gave the room card and my friend who was at receptionist saying he was really rude.

After 20min the technician informed he unable to do and need to call plumber. He went out. After 15mins no any staff came and we can’t
Use the toilet. Call Duty Manager not around and Call Front Office Manager not around also at last leave a message to Operator to call back.
A male manager call me and he apologies to me and offer us another room. Really appreciate and we move to room 1502.

Room 1502 looks fine but after take shower bathup stuck and is seems like flooded call technician again and he repaired but we went out.
After we came we notice that bathup was fix but the is looks dirty and nobody clean at last we clean.
Is 2 queen size bed and in my bed got baby cockroach, emergency light not working.
Since we stay 1 night we never complaint about room 1502 but we feel that the Manager should check the room first before giving to the guest
As we already have problem in room 2102.

We check out from Federal hotel because the rooms looks like old so we decided to shorten our stay and booked under Agoda to deluxe room which cost as
RM300.65nett Room only per night in Dorsett. But the cleanness of Dorsett I think Federal looks old but clean not dirty.

Dorsett Coffee house order 2 cup of Ice cream after our meal and it takes 20mins till we call the waitress and ask her where is our ice cream.
I feel Federal is better and clean also the staff are very friendly compare to Dorsett.

Room Tip: There is more better hotel.

Stayed in this hotel with family last year August and it was a pleasant experience with everything a decent hotel could provide or you could ask for. Recommended it to a few family friends and they did not seem very amused by their stay. We took the punt and stayed in the hotel in 2nd week of March only to find that our friends were right. Hotel needs humongous renovations, improvement and training of staff. Its seems like they are just dragging the things the way they are and just putting all the money away in banks rather spending it on building. Carpets have got marks from place to place and you can feel the stink. Room service is ok but not excellent as it used to be. Breakfast buffet is getting boring and needs a little bit of spice. We need the old Dorsett back or we may start considering other places in future as we quite often visit KL.

Dorsett's location is indeed quite a crowd puller, and with door to door service provided by their partnering coach company. They do have a winning formula..

The room was clean but in need for an update..

Arranged for a little surprise for my partner when I was there and was duly delivered though I had to ask abit for it..

Just a 5 minute walk to Pavillion KL, which I totally appreciate!

Stayed at the Dorsett Regency for 4 nights at the beginning of February. We arrived at the hotel about 10 a.m. and checked in. We were told it would be about an hour before a room was available which I was surprised at as check in is about 2 p.m. and I didn't expect to get a room so early. We asked for a view of the Petronas Towers but I was told this wasn't possible with our room type. Whilst we were waiting, I needed to contact our transfer agent and went to the concierge desk. They immediately rang the number I needed and I sorted things out and went to the lounge till my room was ready. About 10 minutes later, the concierge guy came and told me there was a call for me from the company. Once I had finished that call, the receptionist called me to say the room was ready. We had been allocated a room on 24th floor and when I checked the view, we could actually see the towers from the room. The room itself was a great size with 2 double beds. Only drawback was that there wasn't a lot of storage space but then again I suppose it was a city hotel and people don't normally stay more than a couple of days. Iron and board supplied, tea & coffee and also toiletries.

We had breakfast on one day and there was quite a good choice for both occidental and oriental tastes. One evening we had the buffet dinner - the choice there wasn't too good but it was a few days before Chinese New Year and so there were lovely touches to celebrate this time. Also as we are over 55, we got a discount on the price.

There was 'entertainment' every night we stayed at the hotel. Two girls who tried to sing and dance. Luckily as it was dry and warm, we sat at the tables outside so our ears were not offended too much.

All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. We were near to the Pavillion shopping Mall and 10 minutes walk through the covered walkway to the Petronas Towers. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful but the only drawback is that the hotel needs a real update with the decor. However, that may increase the rates.

Room Tip: Room 1210 has a view of the Petronas Towers.

Terrible entertainment, no internet, no breakfast, overpriced up the wazoo, rooms are terrible, views are mediocre (even on the side looking at the Petronas towers). Stay far, far away. You're way better off at any of the smaller places that give you 4x the amenities for less than a quarter of the price... shameful. Even the business center is paid internet. Business center my ***. Staff are rude and inconsiderate. Get your act together!

We stayed at this hotel for four nights in February. Our room on the 22nd floor was clean and afforded good views of the city and the hills in the surrounding areas. It is on the edge of the Golden Triangle and is ideal for shopping and eating locally. Breakfast was adequate but in a rather cramped room where there were too many closely-packed tables and chairs. Staff were always helpful and we arranged two trips at the tour desk in the lobby. A free public shuttle bus can be picked up outside the hotel to take you around the city, including the Petronas Towers.
The hotel sells wonderful freshly-baked cakes daily and reduces the price of these by 50% after 6pm. All in all, an excellent choice for a few days in KL.

It was okay, nothing to rave or complain abt. Sure, the wallpaper is outdated, peeling and there was mildew stains on it. (as written by other reviewers) But I'm not one who nitpicks abt these things cos we are out from morning till evening. Toilet functions were okay.
We stayed on the 28th floor. (I requested for a higher floor, overlooking the city). View was fantastic, we saw Berjaya Times Sq from our window. we got a room with a large king size bed.

We didn't pay for breakfast with our room, but we ordered Room service which was delightful. We ordered the Nasi Goreng Kampung and Bee hoon. Both were equally tasty.
It was a 5 mins brisk walk to Pavillion. Though uphill, and walking on the busy roads was quite overwhelming.
True to what the others have said, its a value for $, no-frills hotel, efficient receptionists. What more could you ask for.
*of course, if you are on a honeymoon, do consider other options like its neighbours; Ritz Carlton or JW mariott. :)

Room Tip: ask for higher floors for good views
