Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. I didn't really have a choice with the hotel since it was booked for me for a work trip. For this price, I'd have chosen somewhere else in the KL golden triangle area. Given, this hotel is closely located to Petaling St (KL's chinatown) about 10min walk along dusty busy road past an abandoned construction site and the busy messy Sentral bus station; and it is near Jalan Alor food street about 5min across the road and through that road to Bukit Bintang but at the older end so its not that great. I didn't feel too safe walking back after dinner. Other than that, it's not that close to anything else, and as previous viewers noted, i wouldn't advice to walk around the area too late at night and the cab driver at the hotel accost you once you're out.
Check-in was very slow, one of the slowest i've experienced - over an hour. I was assigned a smoking room (very heavy smoke smell) even though i asked for a non-smoking room. and had to wait close to half hour before someone came to change me to another room which was so much better.
The cleanliness of the room is passable. But i've had one day where there were old stains on the bath towel, another day there were holes in the bath towel - really, please change your old towels! We received newspaper every day which was good. No wifi in the room, only wired broadband which is chargeable at RM10 per 24hr. but you can get free wifi at the business lounge on 11 floor (this was not advertised i only found out when i asked the business lounge).
But this takes the cake... for two consecutive nights, the public announcement system went off around 2-3AM in the middle of the night. first night was some kind of indian music, second night was a sound check (test test... test test... and some malay words). i called up the front desk and apparently a few people had already called. two nights of disrupted sleep = two cranky early mornings. not the way to go for a working trip.
