My new wife and I commenced our honeymoon with the Westin. There are many hotels of this rating and stated quality in this very active, entertaining area of Kuala Lumpur. We made an excellent choice.

Following a slight hiccup with not being able to immediately identify the Westin representative at the airport arrivals area (no name card was presented for security reasons and I could not identify a Westin logo amongst those shown - friendly airport staff assisted and located the representative for me), we were whisked into our hotel booked car. A 60 minute drive later we were greeted and taken directly to our room for check in.

To our surprise, we had been upgraded to a suite, which was very generous and unexpected. We had booked for two nights in an executive level twin tower view room directly with the hotel as a SPG member on a promotional rate. We also advised the hotel prior to arriving that this was the start of our honeymoon, and some excellent chocolate dipped strawberries were waiting for us.

The quality of the room, shower, provisions and bedding was excellent. We do not share the fascination some people have with LCD televisions; while it wasn't nostalgic to see a CRT, we were not bothered by a larger, wider television. We were otherwise entertained. By the stereo. Amongst other things. Like the view.

Room service provided an excellent late night char kway teow, and some discounted beers were available in the fridge. Food and drinks in the executive lounge were tasty and the cocktail hour was an excellent way to relax after a day of sight seeing. Of course, the executive lounge attracted a mix of business and leisure guests, and many spaces were available to allow work to be done without distracting those who were seriously relaxing. The corner of the right hand room in the lounge has an excellent view of KL and Petronas towers, which are fun to watch light up at dusk.

Being mild foodies we attempted to eat on Jalan Alor as much as possible, but the international breakfast on the ground floor was diverse and very tasty.

The gym, pool and sauna were excellent, operational and very staffed and maintained.

Check out was handled very smoothly, with a closing drink and our personal farewell from the Executive Lounge Manager was especially graceful, as I was a little too honest and admitted we were departing for a serviced apartment. If we had not prebooked our second accomodation, we would have happily stayed for the additional days at the Westin, and an advanced call was made to our next destination to ensure they were ready for our arrival. Without joking, and we receive no commission, we are seriously considering purchasing some of the linen from the heavenly bed collection.

In summary, an excellent stay and an excellent start to our honeymoon. I am only too pleased to oblige the hotel's request to write this review, and have no concerns about accomodation for our next trip to Kuala Lumpur.

In summary, an excellent and enjoyable sta

Overall, this is a very good 41/2 star hotel in a very convenient location especially if you love to shop as the best mall in KL is over the road.It is not a deluxe spa hotel but still a good place to relax and unwind. in its bright, welcoming atmosphere.
The good things about this hotel are:
(1) The location.
(2) The helpful and friendly attitude of the staff.
(3) The hotel restaurants are good and the buffet breakfast is splendid.
(4) Room Service and Housekeeping are also very good:The check-in swift.
The negative aspects are not massive but perhaps cost the hotel a 5* tag.
(1) The bathroom fittings are worn out and both times I was there in April, I had problems.
(2) There are not facilities for guests such as a news stand or beauty salon although there are such facilities a short walk away from the hotel.
(3) I would have liked to watch a movie and although there are movie channels on the cable TV, I had hoped for In-House movies as I was using the hotel to relax and recover from work as a stop-over.
(4) Staff need to be more aware of guest safety especially women travelling on their own. This is an aspect of guest service that could be attended to by the hotel Concierge.. I had a bad experience with an aggressive taxi driver on the way to catch a plane at 5.30am when the Express Way was empty and dark.Taxi drivers should be aware that the hotel staff have their details and not feel secure enough to threaten guests so as to extort more money.

Our recent visit to the Westin in KL was fantastic. The service was outstanding and more so in the executive club being excellent and professional at all times. The service and buffet breakfast was also great with the staff always being very friendly and willing to provide us with our request.

Look forward to returning to the Westin again.

We stayed 10 nights at the Westin and absolutely loved it! Apart from the TV and the wear of the rooms which were already mentioned in the reviews, we have not found anything to fault the hotel.
•Our room was fresh, clean, with a great view of the twin towers.
•Check-in was a breeze. We were greeted out of the car straight into the room.
•The heavenly bed is indeed heavenly.
•Breakfast buffet is just amazing, over 10 days we were still eating different foods in the morning.
•I found service impeccable, friendly and efficient. Staff is super-courteous. The concierge service was great for getting us the information we needed, organizing taxis and restaurant bookings.
•Shuttle service was convenient to go to KLCC, although we also walked to get there.
•Pool area was nice. What we liked was that there were always only a few guests around making it a great place to relax and unwind.

The most important aspect of the Westin in my opinion is the location. We wanted to be in the Bukit Bintang area for our shopping and eating spree and had the choice between Mariott, Ritz Carlton and Grand Millenium. We were glad we chose Westin as the ornate, heavy set décors of the others were not to our taste. The Westin is modern and contemporary; there are no draperies and valences. Pavilion mall is just across the road. There you will get everything from Prada to Panadol with a great foodcourt in the basement (for those like me who cannot settle for Jalan Alor) and other nice restaurants in the upperfloors. Movie theatres and late-closing restaurants/bars are also at the Pavilion. Starhill Gallery is next door for designer labels and other premium restaurants. Other malls are also within 3-5 min walk. The happening scene of Changkat Bukit Bintang is also within walking distance.
If we go again to KL, we are choosing the Westin. I think this says it all. Being residents of Mauritius, we have sampled quite a few 5-star resorts and if you can handle a few scratches in the Westin room, then I don’t see how come you will not enjoy your stay there.

Stayed 3 nites at Westin recently - got good rate at latestays.com. The room is spacious and we love the beds - mattress is firm and there were 3 diff types of pillows. Nice bathroom with separate shower and bath tub. The toiletries are nice.
Only thing we found a bit of problem was the lighting - need to switch the lamps on individually or room is rather dark. Hotel is convenient for going around Bukit Bintang shopping malls.
Near to the hotel if you cut thro Ritz Carlton is Jln Imbi - nice places to eat there - great nasi lemak at Sakura cafe and Chinese food in Overseas Chinese Restoran. The concierge at Westin is very helpful. Just opp hotel is Pavilion Mall which has many shops as well as Parkson and a great food court, There is also ILLY coffee available in outdoor cafe - great Italian coffee and nice place to relax and take breakfast or tea.
