Westin KL was recommended to me but I was a bit hesitant after reading some negative reviews here. However I enjoyed my stay very much.

The location is very convenient, with shopping and restaurants at our finger tips at Pavilion mall across the street and Starhill Gallery next door. It's also only a few minutes walk from other shopping centres (Lot 10, BB Plaza etc.) and Bukit Bintang monorail station. The hawker food centre of Jalan Alor is also a few minutes walk away. On weekdays the hotels offer a free shuttle van service to the twin towers.

The concierge and lobby staff in general were very helpful. The concierge was able to answer our every question, from transportation and time tables, to the location of fish spas, to recommending a local tailor for alterations.

The buffet breakfast is something to be experienced with so much to offer from every cuisine.

We stayed in two different rooms last month, and both were spacious and generally well maintained, although they do show their age in the scratched basins and bathtubs. Some of the bath towels were also frayed. Little used areas like the mini-bar look like they haven't been dusted for a while. Overall the room is comfortable though. The Heavenly Bed is great, and three pillow types are on offer which is just wonderful.

We usually stay with the Le Meridien KL and really liked the warm service and accommodation there. This time around we stayed at the Westin as I have a conference at the neighbouring hotel.

Unfortunately, barely three hours after we checked in, there was a deafening drilling sound followed by hammering from the neighbouring room. This went on for almost 5 hours. The disappointing thing was that the staff did not even bother to tell us of this work or offer us another room when we checked in.

The much touted Heavenly bed also really fell short of expectation for Room 3001. My husband suffered bad ache throughout the 2 nights we were there and we initially thought it was because the bed was supposed to be soft. On the last day we flipped up the bed covers and found that the side had actually lost its support. When pressed, the padding of entire LHS of the bed bulged out. We would never had expected this from a Westin, so it was a shock.

We left a feedback form with the hotel but never heard back from them.

Housekeeping service is also very much slower than the other Starwood hotel. Took housekeeping more than 30 minutes to change our soiled sheets.

It was not all bad though. The staff at the Splash bar were exceptionally wonderful and looked after us really well. The friendly doormen were equally great and quick to offer a hand or a smile.

On the whole, this Westin was a decent hotel in a great location but not quite up to the standards of the other Starwood hotels we had stayed at.

good hotel overall, great rooms, beds , breakfast & lunch buffets were some of the best i have seen. what got into my nerve was receiving an email a few days after I checked out informing me that they were charging my credit card for some items taken from the room ref. I was thinking they should have checked the room while i was settling my bills and not after i have left. anyway , i replied that i did not take those items and asked them to reverse the charges which i think they did. the sad news is that i had to pay finance charges to the credit card they charged and now i am not so sure that the charges were in fact reversed. if this is official hotel politcy (charged first and inform later) , i have to say it is quite unfair. Also , stay away from using thie internet which is expensive to use.

stayed this hotel for few times.. always return for 1 reason only = BREAKFAST
I think they served the best buffet breakfast in KL. Lots of dishes + the whole bakery is yours..hahaha. Beside this the location is good..room is comfortable.

One down point.. The heavenly bed is not up to my expectations. I always feel that my Sxxxxxs bed at home is much better. But the sheets and pillows is GOOD
