“Great Room, Amazing Service, Excellent Location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

Here is everything that's awesome about this hotel:

1) It is literally across the street from KL Sentral monorail station which makes it VERY EASY to get here from the airport and then to almost any landmark in Kuala Lumpur. I couldn't be happier with the location.

2) Rooms are large and clean. Bed is very comfy.

3) We got the internet and breakfast package which I recommend you get if you will be using either one. It is cheap when you get it as a bundle and their breakfast buffet had a HUGE selection of delicious foods.

4) Concierge staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. It was our first time in KL and we had a lot of questions for them, all of which they went above and beyond in helping us.

Room Tip: Starwood floor rooms were great. I'm not sure how the other floors compare.

No complaints at all about this hotel. The breakfast was expansive, the room view amazing, pool very nice and the staff attentive. At one point we called the front desk about a problem with the air conditioning and someone arrived to fix it in three minutes. The hotel's also in an easy-to-access location.

This is a hotel that mean it when they say they want you to come back again & again. In technicality, this hotel might not be on the same level as the other 5 star hotels that I have stayed. It is quite dated in terms of style & fixtures but it is well maintained and clean. Its in room wi-fi needs some work & their housekeeping staff needs training, however, there are so many other areas that compensate these short comings. Firstly, we were upgraded to the twin tower view. Next, the size of the room was one of the largest that I have been to for that rate plus huge bathrooms. The bed was really comfortable with great linens. The location was quite good with minimal traffic jams going and coming back to the hotel even during peak periods. There are plenty of restaurants and eating places around and if you enjoy the night life, this is the place to be. But what really impressed me was the service. Everyone was consistently warm, helpful & going their extra mile. And when something went wrong, the service recovery was good. I want to thank the hotel manager Kurt for going the extra mile to make the hotel stay extra special.

This hotel is conveniently located right next to a monorail station. From there KL is your oyster! only 3 short stops to the shopping at Bukit Bintang!!

The hotel itself has wonderful staff and amenities. We had booked 2 rooms for our family of 4. The rooms were very large and spacious with a large bathroom. I think only one room would've been enough but it certainyl gave us extra space. Staff were very helpful and respectful always!

I highly recommend this hotel to any traveller seeking a comfortable and luxurious stay in KL.

Only disappointing aspect was that we couldn't get wifi in our room. Only in the public areas. I'm not sure if this is hotel policy or just didn't work in our room. Anyway it wasn't that big a deal to us.

Also, thanks for sharing your concerns on the WiFi. We do provide WiFi at each floor and probably due to signal you might not have the access. We are currently working on a solution to improve the WiFi signal at each floor.

We do look forward to welcoming you back to the Sheraton Imperial if your travels include Kuala Lumpur again. Best Regards, Chuck Abbott

Not too bad but Internet required a different login for each device computer, iPad and iPhone, hotels should recognise that today's travellers want to be able to use Internet as an essential part of their stay on all their devices and make this as easy as possible. Older style dark panelled wood throughout, Very strange and strong cleaning smells on our floor 32 was unpleasant. Room fine but not sure I'd stay there again when there is so much other choice

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel Kuala Lumpur. We appreciate you sharing the experience of Internet login at our hotel. No doubt the Internet has become an important aspect for travelers so we are currently working on improving our IT infrastructure that will support a better Internet surfing experience. Currently we do allow our guests to login to 3 gadgets (e.g. Ipad, mobile and laptop) at one go rather than only limiting to 1 gadget.

I hope this incident wont hold you back from returning to Sheraton Imperial if your travels include Kuala Lumpur again. Best Regards, Chuck Abbott

I can't really fault this hotel. I've stayed in Fairmonts and Peninsulas and this beats them.

The hotel is entrance is opposite the Medan Tuanku monorail station and just a short walk from the KL Tower. You cannot hear the monorail.

Service was impeccable, including a handshake from the doorman on arrival and traditional Malaysian breakfast recommendations from a hotel manager in the lift.

I stayed in a Deluxe Twin Towers view room. The bed was super comfortable and the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Petronas Twins Towers and the KL Tower was stunning at night.

Although in Malaysia, the Italian food at the Villa Danieli restaurant came recommended by a guide book and did not disappoint. Some of the best Italian food I've tasted; burrata and sun dried tomatoes, sea bass carpaccio with asparagus and olive dust and a outstanding rosemary creme brule.

The only two fault with this hotel are:

1) Very weak wifi signal in room. Frequently dropped out. This seems very bad given that Shertan charge for wifi access.

2) the Essence restaurant. Although it is supposed to offer a la carte, it majors on buffet food. 10 minutes after being shown table I had not been given a menu or asked if I wanted a drink. I left and went elsewhere for dinner.

Given that KL is almost impossible to negotiate other than by car, taxi or train, the proximity of the monorail station combined with large modern rooms and stunning views makes this a hotel it has pleasure to stay in.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for Twin Towers Views

I had an excellent rate through Expedia and I have to say I was not disappointed by the value for money.

The hotel style is old but very well maintained and clean.

The room was spacious and functional. Very sad that internet is not complimentary in the rooms.

The service encountered (check in, check out, telephone operator, lounge, room service, housekeeping) was simply perfect, nothing to say about that. Staff are very well trained, smiley, willing to help.

The food and beverage is the reason why I only rate the hotel 4/5; It is standard and boring, really nothing new nor exiting. I was travelling alone and staying in the F&B outlets was honestly depressing despite the excellent staff. The toastina cafe is a mix of cafe, restaurant, cigar lounge, beer garden and simply makes no sense.

On the overall my stay was very good, congratulation to all the staff

Room Tip: Don't bother with the Twin Tower View does not worth it
