“Nice hotel, convienient location but a bit pricy”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

We stayed here for 7 nights and the service and staff were second to none. We had a nice large room with king size bed. The Gym is good but the air conditioning didn't seem to work well in there as it was far too hot to run. Pool area is nice if a bit noisy from the construction of new towers in the area. Don't expect the sun all day as it spends long periods behind buildings but a nice place to cool down and the pool is a good size to do lengths in with 2 shallower areas for the kids to splash in.

The big negative for this hotel is the price they are expecting for food and drinks. Breakfast wasn't included in our rate and they were asking RM72 (£14) each for a buffet breakfast. Drinks in the lobby bar expect to pay £10 for a small glass of wine £6 for a beer or £4 for a coke, the same in the mini bar. Given you can buy the same coke in the shops across the road for 30p a can or tins of beer for £1.20. You can eat breakfast in McDonnalds or KFC across the road for about £1. If you're not on expenses this is worth noting. There is also a pizza hut, frozen yogurt place and a shopping mall across the road. Inside the mall is the restaurant Cozy House ( or Cozy Corner it's called on here)

I staid several times for a few days each time and I very much like this hotel.

The rooms are well sized and nicely furnished.
The beds are comfortable.
The in-room work station is practicle and comfortable for a few hours work.
The internet connection is fast.
The staff is friendly, helpful and welcoming.
The showers are OK.

The hotel is worth the money and the service is also very good.
Expect for the internet provided in the hotel everything is worth the money.

The complimentary internet provided in this hotel is very bad and it works at less than 1 mbps.

Dear AshokMJ,

Greetings from InterContinental KL!

It is unfortunate to hear that the complimentary Internet provided in the hotel is not up to your expectation. Additional bandwidth is available upon request, do not hesitate to let us know during your stay and we will certainly arrange it for you. We do appreciate your feedback and we look forward to having you here again in the future.

We had a two night stay and apart from some glitches in our reservation, we had reserved a room on there website, and prepaid the advance purchase rate, we then adjusted the room type - moving to a better quality room rate - which they website acknowledged but did not action, resulting in a argument at check in.
The Ambassador Supervisor was not open to my suggestion that she just change the reservation and adjust the rate - was met with an argument that went on for about ten mintues, where I was kept being told that I was in the wrong - so I dragged out the iphone, pulled up the email and quoted from it, when I said this email was sent to me by **** **** , she said thats me, so i showed her , her email and said fix it. Still not happy with the fact that the upgrade to the room we really wanted had to be paid at the walk in rate and not the advance purchase rate, when it was obvious that was what we wanted.

Having said all of that - we still got the same room, as we had reserved, despite paying 150 MYR more per night for the upgrade - go figure.

The room was great, huge bed - nice desk area - awesome bathroom - with a rainforest shower head that was just delightful.

All of the staff we then interacted with were great, and went out of there way to assist and be friendly. From the concierge who told me to tuck my gold chain under my shirt for personal saftey, to the buffet staff offering and getting us both a plate of Malaysian breakfast delicacies.

The Club staff were awesome - personalized professional service.

We would not hesitate to stay here again - but we night make sure our reservation was exactly what we wanted before we checked in.

We did think that the quality of the renovation was slapdash, there was paint stains on the door handle to the bathroom, and some of the paint finishes made us think it was a rush job rather than a good quality job

This was my second visit to this hotel, my first visit last year left me an unimpressive experience since hotel was under renovation and I was booked into an old room.

This time, I checked in at midnight and found the check-in process was quick and efficient. Within few minutes, I was already in the room. The refurbished room is nice, brighter. Bed is large with new linens, towel is new and soft. Feel much more comfortable. Air-conditioning seems to be problem, will only work at 24'c although I tried to reduce to 20'c when I entered the room but it didn't go anywhere below 24'c and it need quite sometimes to cool the room.

Breakfast is good with many local favourites plus those standard items. However, dining here make me feel like sitting in corporate canteen due to the fact that tables are arranged in parallel manner and each table is so closed to each others (about 1.5 feet in between). I frequently dine at Intercontinental Bangkok where restaurant size is much smaller but I feel more comfort with more privacy.

Check out service is quick. I would suggest an express check-out so guests don't need to line up at cashier to check-out.

I was invited to attend an Annual General Meeting held by MSM Malaysia Holdings (Public Listed Company) recently at this Hotel. This Hotel has been refurbished and generate a good image to travellers globally as its name implies.
Its niche over other Hotels are : (1) Well located next to LRT station (few steps away);
(2) Free bus ride under the 'Go-KL City' promotion campaign which has benefited all tourists be it Malaysians or foreign tourists. In another words, the Hotel is well served with Public Transport.
Should you require to put up a night in this Hotel, it is worth it as it's prices are cheap and fair.
The Hotel is well renovated and completed with Greens and Grand 'snowy-like' Lobby. Perhaps, just drop by to view the Hotel's decoration, if you are just a tourist passer-by.

Room Tip: Rooms of higher floor will give a good night view of city, in particular, the KL Twin Tower.

Stayed there for 2 nights and overall quite satisfied. The room and the bathroom was large. The breakfast was nice and had a large selections. The location was excellent and just a walking distance to KLCC and Ampang Park LRT. Price wise everything within the hotel was quite expensive (maybe because they are 5 stars hotel). Most probably won't stay here the next time but I'm still recommended this hotel if you looking for a hotel in KL.
