“Great time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2011

Stayed 6 nights on their buy 2 get one free offer. Club floor was really worth the extra. Could stay there all day eating and drinking! Like the other reviewer commented, the fruits were always sweet and seemed a notch better than the fruit in the buffet breakfast at the restaurant which we tried one day. Got upgraded to a suite room though not on the club floor but just below it. The amenities are those of Club floor though which are L'Occitane and in generous amounts replenished twice a day.
Staff friendly and chatty and Angie, Manager of lounge, was always very happy to be of assistance.
Be careful of slippery floors though. We arrived late in the night and they were mopping the floor in the lounge with signs up etc but still my 13 yr old slipped and fell heavily even though he was trying to be careful. May have been better in that instance to have done the check in elsewhere.
Internet in the room was free but somehow not fast enough to be able to skype with webcam. So we could see my husband at home but he could not see us except sporadically.
Pool not very big but adequate and pleasant environment. The only comment is that in contrast to the staff in the rest of the hotel the poolside towel man seemed rather surly with no smile and when approached about using the tennis courts just pointed us to the fitness centre to enquire. Not in the least helpful. No free drinks or refreshments offered at pool side and actually the 3 times we were there no one asked if we needed anything or offered to take our drink orders.
Overall good value for money esp when the foreign x change is in our favour. Love the Shangrila chain and will stay whenever I can afford it!

This hotel has outstanding services. They give us an early check in at 10am with a flower welcome (honeymooners) and room upgrade. The room (1505) has a view to the twin towers and simply 5 star standard. They also welcome as with fruit basket and sweats, very nice from them.

The hotel location is very good, close to every thing, 200 m to monorail station, 5 minutes to twin towers, 2 minutes to restaurants such as Fridays and Hardrock.

The breakfast is excellent, it has every thing….. and more.

The Spa facilities are great, really enjoyed.

I recommend this hotel for every one and for honeymooners especially, they will enjoy there welcome…

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at the Shangri-La Hotel at the end of January - . we travel a lot and have stayed in some very good hotels and I have to say that this hotel is one of the best - faultless! The service and staff were superb, the room was large and airy with excellent facilities. We ate twice in the newly opened Arthurs Grill - lovely food and very friendly staff, The location of the htoel is ideal for site-seeing - easily within walking distance of the Petronas Towers and also the KL tower. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Everything excellent-very clean, great service, comfortable large rooms. Super gym. Breakfast best I have ever had.
If you wanted to nitpick you could say the decor was a little old fashioned but otherwise 10 out of ten.

We spent 2 nights at the Shangri-la KL, where we recovered from a busy sightseeing schedule we had in Vietnam and Cambodia. The hotel is beautiful and the staff excellent. The Horizon Club was well worth the cost – including breakfast, snacks and softdrinks during the day, afternoon tea and evening drinks. To be honest, the hotel was so good we spent much less time looking around KL than we had intended, and more time cocooned inside!

I was just got a bad mood as the day before, KL taxi ( the worst taxi in asia pacific region) again irritate me. this time in Subang airport.
I wake up quite late and went to breakfast on about 10.00 AM, the breakfast time was almost over.
the waiter usher me nicely to my table and offer newspaper. As i strolling the buffet, found out that a lot of chinese breakfast has been empty, when went to th omellete station, the chef is not there. i was looking around when the waiter ask me what happen.
I was simply say tht it seems some food already empty ( even i realize that I was late and its normal that some food maybe finished)
a few minutes later, a young guy approach me with a burly guy beside him. he said that they realized tht some foods may have finished fr the bufffet, but he has the chef beside him and i am free to orer any breakfast that i want, the chef will cook it for me.
finally the noddle soup that the chef prepare was one f the best hotel breakfast i have. not so much the taste, but the service level was excellent.
customers actually do not need much, just a bit attention, and u blow them high.

My wife and I spent 4 nites in the Shangri La hotel Kuala Lumpur. We were on our honeymoon, and without even telling the check in staff, we were upgraded to a larger room on a higher floor which was great. Check in and check out was easy and uncomplicated. The were always very welcoming and had a smile on their faces.
The rooms are very clean and luxurious, with high speed cable internet available, and the bed very comfortable.
The hotel is in a great location, within 10 minutes walk of the petronas twin towers/KLCC, and within a stone throw of a monorail station.
The buffet breakfast is the best I have ever seen, simply amazing!!! there were large chocolate and strawberry fondue fountains, a massive bakery selection, an omelette station and a mix of western/chinese/malay foods, and fresh fruits and juices.
Overall we had a great stay, and I can recommend this hotel to those wishing to stay in a very nice and luxurious hotel in the city centre close to all amenities.
