Highly recommend this hotel. All the staff are very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast brilliant value and choice, even eggs cooked to your specific wishes. Great menu at Arthur's Bar, too. Location couldn't really be better - close to the PETRONAS Towers and the Tower - and about five minutes from the hop on/hop off bus stop. We were lucky enough to see the fantastic Christmas tree before we left - all decorated with sugar paste creations made by the pastry chefs and sponsored for charity. A definite place to check out and relax - free wifi, slippers, robe, daily paper - everything to make the stay perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the PETRONAS Towers.

This is KL's best hotel. So I won't tell you what you already know about this hotel: Luxurious swish rooms, free fast WiFi, excellent/friendly staff, top-notch in-house restaurants, proximity to KL's best shopping via Monorail or foot, one of the best buffet breakfasts in KL, business ready.

I will tell you instead that I keep coming back to this hotel and it remains consistently good. I will also tell you that they are very child-friendly and accommodating, and are very good at making sure you have a good business trip but also can relax with your family. And the staff always have a smile for you.

Definitely stay here if you are coming to KL.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room and they will put you on a higher floor

We started our twin-centre honeymoon in Malaysia at this gorgeous hotel in KL.
What a stunning hotel! Located in the city centre of KL, it was a 20 minute walk from Petronas towers and just a few minutes’ walk from the Tower, some impressive shopping malls and the nearest Monorail station! Shangri La was a perfect 5* hotel delivering on every promise and beyond – staff just could not do enough for you.

Hotel amenities range from spacious, clean, well-equipped rooms, to an in-house beauty spa (with a steam room, sauna and a Jacuzzi (these areas are segregated and located in male/female changing rooms)), to a number of varied restaurants and cafes, beautiful outdoors area with a garden and a swimming pool...
There is a private Horizon Lounge for those staying in Suites, which serves breakfast and cocktails to the high-flyers.

General.
We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who quickly processed our details and despatched a bell boy with our luggage to our room. Check in was quick and seamless. The lobby area is so grand and during our one week stay they changed the impressive flower (lily) display twice; there is also a large, open plan bar, where you could get just about any kind of an exotic tea your mind could think of (as well as all the other usual beverages and snacks) and where a beautiful singer performs accompanied by a band at nights.

Food.
Our breakfast was served at the lovely Lemon Garden Cafe Restaurant – it was a buffer breakfast and had anything you could ever want in the morning – from a variety of fresh juices, to sushi (!), to curries, noodles and other Asian delights (!) to a pastry section, fresh fruit and a chocolate fountain (!). There was also a number of ‘healthy’/free-from options, which we didn’t even look at.
We also had dinner at the Lemon Garden Cafe one evening – to take advantage of the buffet option, which gave us an opportunity to try some traditional Asian foods – service, food and value were outstanding. Another night we dined out at the Shang Palace, which was also a lovely experience on our doorstep – delicious food, fairly inexpensive and portion sizes were RIDICULOUSLY large! One of the days we grabbed a quick lunch at the Lemon Garden 2GO cafe – the coconut blend coffee (served in a real coconut) they had as a special coffee of the month was absolutely to die for!
Finally, battling an 8 hour jet lag we enjoyed quite a few room service meals – everything we had was delicious, but for me an absolutely outstanding dish was the Malay Oxtail Soup – it has forever stolen my heart and I am determined to add it to my cooking skill set.

Room.
There are 6 elevators, so you are never left waiting for long. The whole hotel exudes luxury, once you’ve walked through the tasteful but lavish corridor, you arrive at your room. Unfortunately, we did not get a cheeky free upgrade, but even without that the room impressed! We got one of the rooms with a curved window so had a panoramic view of the pool, foliage next to it and nearby skyscrapers – not that we spent much time in our room :).

Spa.
Spa amenities are open till midnight, which, having arrived in KL with a raging cold, was a very welcome surprise - as my husband headed out for a stag party, I relaxed in a Jacuzzi and warmed myself in the sauna and steam room. This area was clean and manned by attentive and friendly staff, who were always on hand to welcome and register the guests, hand out clean, crispy towels and offer some herbal tea. There was plenty of products in the showers and locker room (shower gel, lotions, towels, hair dryer...) and there was even a fresh juice cooler in the relaxation room with a tv. We used spa amenities pretty much every day and the high standard of services provided was constant. My husband and I both got some treatments at the Spa and were very impressed with the more than reasonable prices and service provided.

Overall, we both agreed that this was hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had when it comes to staying in hotels. Staff could not be friendlier and could not do enough for you, hotel is clean and maintained to the absolute top standard. There’s anything your heart might desire on hand – from the morning paper, to a VIP lounge, to delicious food on your doorstep... not to mention proximity to all the star attractions of KL!
When travelling in future, Shangri La will be a strong contender for a citybreak hotel (along with Sofitel) of choice!
Thank you for being such welcoming hosts!

We have booked our stay directly with the hotel and have been upgraded to a suite. The room was lovely, with massive bathroom and a TV next to the bath. The sitting area had large rounded windows overlooking the city.
We have eaten two lunches at bistro downstairs which were very nice. One night we had a meal at Chinese restaurant on the first floor which was one of the nicest meals we had in KL.

The service at the hotel was very good. All staff was very polite and ready to help. Also, the fitness centre is worth mentioning as it is the best one I have ever been. With latest carsio equipment and plenty of weights it was a pleasure to go there for a workout.

Overall I would highly recommend this place.

Excellent location. 5 minute walk to Suria KLCC shopping mall, less than 10 minutes walk to KL convention centre.
Staff are courteous and helpful. Room is clean with free wifi. Fresh fruits and newspapers supplied daily. TV channels are limited, but would be adequate for someone on a business trip.

After travelling through India and Malaysia for three weeks, our last stop was three nights at the Shangri La in Kuala Lumpur. We had spent a week at the Golden Sands in Penang so had some expectation of the group and this was surpassed by this amazing hotel.

You arrive, get out of the cab and are greeted so warmly and welcomingly by the door men that you want to hug them. Then you walk into the amazing foyer - the lighting, the chaldeleirs, the backdrop, the perfumed smell coming from the lillies ... I was in heaven. Then my wonderful husband decided to treat me by upgrading our standard room to a suite!!!

We were on the 26th floor with a view of the KL Tower - a huge entry, enormous dressing room, lovely spacious living room, the most glorious bedroom and a bathroom I would happily live with forever! It was simply beyond anything I had experienced before (and I have stayed in some lovely hotels including suites). Everything was just beautiful - from the plate of fruit (apples, mangoes and dragon fruit) on our living room table to coming back in the evening to low lights and a bed waiting for us to melt into.

The Horizon Club was also superb and well worth upgrading (even if just to a horizon room rather than a suite). We were always greeted with friendly service, the happy two-hours is lovely with a wide range of beverages on offer and superb nibbles (be warned the nibbles are so good and so substantial you may not need dinner afterwards, which is great if you don't want to go out and explore all that KL has to offer culinary-wise). Breakfast there was also a lovely way to start each day - in peace with a delicious variety of things to chose from. The swimming pool area on the second floor was also just gorgeous - plenty of seating, a view of Petronas and the special little touches such as a jug of iced water and an apple being delivered to your pool chair without request. These are the things that make this group so special.

The location of the hotel is great - with most of the places you would want to shop a short walk or even shorter taxi ride away. KLCC is just five minutes walking up the road, as is the Pavillion.

I could rave about this hotel forever and will be doing so for years to come. It was also be a definate return for us again and again - my first visit to KL and it won't be my last, I loved it. The staff were all amazingly friendly and went out of their way to assist when ask. The property itself is just sublime and I would highly highly recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: If you can afford to upgrade, do so - the suites were out of this world!
