Shang KL is none of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. From guest services to food to ambience it provides a total consistent experience. Thank you and ll the best. The attentiveness and hospitality of the staff were extraordinary. They showed genuine respect and warmth right throughout

After reading trip advisor reviews my husband and I decided to stay at the Shangri La for 4 nights in a suite which included club facilities. It was so reasonably priced. We arrived to the hotel about midnight, went straight to our room and ordered room service as we had not eaten since early morning. We ordered way too much food as we are big eaters (compared to Asians) and we thought being a 5 star hotel the serves would be small. Wrong! The plates were huge. We had to leave half of it because we were so full. The food was also very reasonably priced. The Club Facilities at the Shangri-La KL are the best I have had. Such extensive choices for breakfast, afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks. Glad I could get my favourite Cosmopolitan for free in the Club Lounge. Service was very good indeed. It is about a five/ten minute walk to the twin towers and about a fifteen minute walk into the main shopping area. Our room was lovely. Two toilets, three tvs, table and chairs in the dining area, couch in the sitting area....Very nice indeed. The bar area downstairs was lovely. It overlooks a pond with fish and turtles in it. Good food served there also. The sports bar also had good food. Would highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Spend a little extra and get a room or suite that includes the Club Facilities. Well worth the bit e...

My husband & I just returned from a too short trip to KL (because I fell and broke my arm on KL Bird Park slippery paving stones in rain). This was the start of our holiday booked with the UK "If Only" tour operator - was good value, but no refund after accident.

They had booked us a Premier room, which we got, but on checking in the clerk said "no high rooms available" and fobbed us off with a very low floor room, overlooking a shabby road and the half-deserted building site next door. So I asked to see the manager, when we were instantly reallocated a much higher floor, overlooking the small pool, tennis court and pretty little maze garden. So proves you need to push this - perhaps they think UK tourists booked through operators are a pushover?

Anyway I only spent 1 night here - rest in Prince Court hospital (highly recommended if you have an accident!) but they looked after my husband very well. He ate in Arthur's Bar & Grill most nights and they offered him reading material as he was alone. The breakfasts - at least I had one of those! - were crowded but nice - very interesting to try the dim sum, wish I had also tried the live noodle bar as I like noodle soup.

More locals than tourists overall. Genuinely only 5 minutes walk down straight road to KLCC Mall. Good hotel.

Room Tip: Remember to ask for a high floor and a view! Room itself identical.

We could not have started our holiday in a better way, we had a wonderful stay. The staff could not have made us feel more welcome with our eight month old baby. We upgraded to the Horizon club which we thought was good value for money. The rooms are very clean, a great size and teh bathrooms are lovely. A bath and a separate shower. The staff could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is in a great location a 10min walk to the Pavilion shopping mall. We loved it there and it set the standard for the rest of our holiday which was not necessarily a good thing as the bar was set very high.

I have stay at the Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur countless times as I am in KL quite often for business.

Every stay has been to the same consistent standard one expects from Shangri-La hotels.

The staff are attentive without being intrusive.

I strongly recommend paying the bit extra for a club room which is great value.

Room Tip: Pay extra and go "Club"

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel with a 2 nights-1 night free promo package with horizon club benefits. The hotel has all services and attentions you expect in a 5* hotel, special mention to L'occitane amenities. Great View on one of the Petronas tower, the other one being in the alignment.
Nice garden although the pool is now a bit outdated. Same for the rooms, which are fine but rather old fashion (do not expect
contemporary / design decor).
Breakfast, and complimentary afternoon tea and cocktail (for Horizon club members) are just fabulous so that you may even forget to go out for dinner in gastronomic KL !
We definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you can benefit from a nice package.

My family (2 adults and 2 small children) stayed at the Shangri-La in July 2013. We opted for a deluxe room. We found the rooms to be spacious enough, clean and very comfortable. We asked for a baby cot and had our 1 year old baby sleep in it while our 3 year old boy slept of the sofa - which we transformed into a comfortable bed for him.

We liked the hotel's multi-cuisine restaurant as the food was great and we could always find something the kids liked. Breakfast was fantastic! One of the best we have every had, with choices of European, Indian, Chinese, Japanese breakfast foods. Truly awesome.

The hotel is also ideally situated - 5 to 10 mins away from the Petronas towers and the Suria KLCC shopping center. We warmly recommend this hotel and we will be going back.
