I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental twice during my trip to Malaysia, once for five nights and then for three nights. I was impressed by the hotel and the service received. For the first five nights I stayed in a room with twin beds, overlooking the Petronas Towers. For the second three nights I was on a higher floor and had a king-size bed. I definitely recommend the latter – far more convenient. You should definitely pay that little extra for a room that overlooks the Petronas Towers. It’s certainly worth the view. The hotel is centrally located, right at the Petronas Towers. There is a large shopping mall right next to the hotel, super convenient for shopping / meals, etc…

One negative comment – I must say that I object to there not being complimentary Internet access in the rooms. When will hotels realize that this must change and that free Internet access should be provided to all guests? However, if you register your personal details on the hotel’s website you will receive complimentary Internet access for the duration of your stay, like I did for my final three nights.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the Petronas Towers - that little extra charge is well worth the view.

Dear GeoCRAt

Thank you for choosing to stay with us.

We are delighted that you had an enjoyable stay and appreciate your great feedback.

Further, in reference to the provision of complimentary WiFi service, I am pleased to share that due to the high cost of quality bandwidth in Kuala Lumpur, most hotels charge for WiFi accordingly. Guests who choose to stay on our Club Floors receive complimentary internet access. On this note, our hotel provides by far, the highest level of bandwidth in the city and once logged in, you may use up to 6 devised on your account. Thank you for letting all TripAdvisor fans know that Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has recently launched an initiative in regard to WiFi costs whereby all bookings made via our website are inclusive of free WiFi for all the various packages available on our website.

We look forward to your return for another memorable stay.

Kind regards

I checked-in to the hotel sometime in October for Business. The check-in was speedily done and I was also given free upgrade to Club room where there is a coffee machine in your room. The room itself was well maintained and clean. Design is a bit dated but still luxury enough. And the location is great where you can walk to the Suria Mall next door for some shopping and food.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the park is quieter.

This was a wonderful stay.
My husband, my 2 toddlers and I stayed there for 2 nights.
We booked for executive park view room u set romantic package. Package included dinner for 2 in Ferringhi grill and some extra amenities.
We were glad that the hotel upgraded us to park suite.
I would like to thank Mr. Arul the F&B director for the complimentary dinner in Lai Po Heen.
This stay we had some hiccups that the hotel forgot to send us the kids amenities of bath robes, night time cookies and milk on our first night.
The romantic amenities were sent to us on the second day which they should be arranged on arrival day.
The staff were so friendly. I would like to thank a lady manager in Ferringhi grill who used to work in Mosaic, (I am sorry that I didn't ask for her name), she was so thoughtful that when we chatted during our dinner, she knew that my husband had ulcers in his mouth, she immediately got my husband a large bottle of ordarex mouth wash! We appreciated for her action so much.
The dinner in Ferringhi grill was one of the best experience we had in mandarin oriental. Food was so satisfied and my toddlers enjoyed their steak and fish so much.
Overall experience was wonderful!

Dear ok_xin

We are delighted that your family had an enjoyable stay with us and appreciate your excellent feedback on our Mandarin Grill's food and service, and in particular the Manager, Natassia's assistance.

My apologies on the amenities oversight and rest assured that we will pay extra attention in the area to avoid any recurrence.

Our best wishes to your family for the best of the forthcoming holiday season and we hope to see you and your family again in the new year.

1) The staff are very attentive (e.g. so many hotels i stayed in KL..it is the one that the staff take the initiatives to offer the tower)...

2) although it looks a bit old (i.e. the design), a nice sleep with the comfortable bed..

3) the bath amenities "Sense" is a right word to describe the hotel

4)pool, sauna..great..steam room with some "stars" at the ceiling ..wonderful experience

Looking forward to come back again for newly renovated room...

I stayed here on business for a week and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Location - Superb. Right next to the twin towers and a large shopping mall with lots of places to eat and drink also next door to the hotel. It is also next to a large park (nice for running). Its right in the centre of KL city centre so getting around is pretty easy. There is an LRT station in the main shopping centre.

Rooms - Very nice. Well appointed large room. Very clean and comfortable with a nice walk in shower and large bathtub.

Pool and Gym - Very nice and large gym with an equally good gym. The changing rooms were nice as well and had a sauna and spa area.

Food - I ate at the hotel for breakfast which was very nice and huge variety of opens.

Overall a very nice hotel and a one i would recommend. Its interior is great but the location is the best thing about this hotel for getting around KL. One downside i would say is that there are a lot of add on extra charges for things, service charges etc were high and food in the hotel overpriced considering there are lots of options nearby.
