Its the only hotel that we have ever felt like we were walking into a 5 star hotel. From the warm welcome of the hostesses, to the quick check in, the responsiveness in meeting all our demands, simply amazing.

The hotel location is excellent, close proximity to the Bukit Bintang shopping strip, neighbouring eating places from Malaysian, Indian, Chinese, Middle Eastern and Pakistani and all very inexpensive. The Indian restaurant in the hotel itself is worth it especially the yummy nans and chicken tika/tandoori.

The breakfast at the hotel is bountiful, a huge variety of English/American, Malaysian, Chinese etc great selection of pastries you wont be disappointed! They also make fresh rotis!!

The rooms are really spacious, flat screen TV, however I noticed a drop in the number of channels which was a bit disappointing for our girls, I guess we really dont stay in to watch TV in KL! The bathroom too is spacious, separate shower, bath-tub and toilet, twin basins. However the shower is abit on the dated side needs some refurbishment. Very clean, white fluffy towels super clean as was the room throughout.

I totally recommend this hotel to all travellers be it for business or leisure. We have been to many 4-5 star hotels around the world and believe me this is the only place we truly feel like a special guest.

We wish to thank some lovely staff at the hotel who always go out of their way to make our stay a most memorable one firstly Audrey Farida outstanding for friendliness, service, information about anything and Lily B both are lovely hosts who welcome us with warm welcoming smiles and open arms, Zell the F&B Manager who is an absolute delight, a very pleasant and conscientious young man in housekeeping Shihan who was always smiling and no request was too difficult. Mortzhar and Aziz in the concierge section to all a Big Thank You.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else except the Istana in KL. and make sure you say hi to Audrey.

great views, handy location but wasnt treated very well by staff behind the desk on checkin. got in at 3.30 pm. after flight we just wanted to go to room and relax for a bit, but told room wasnt ready. got given a drink voucher, asked for a beer emphatic "NO". soft drink and juice only.had to wait another hour or so. got to room and it wasnt very clean. porters and the like at the front door were very helpful and friendly. but staff behind the counter not very.

Carpets & the furniture..lift the mood a bit..Hilton almost got the same features..especially the bathroom accs, GROHE the best. Housekeeping assistance...super fast for newspaper, coffee sticks, amenities..its great..I remember Mr. Mohan the housekeeping staff..friendly & helpful. Refer the elsafe to be checked as can be use or not..as I was overnight..the safe cannot be use..Anyhow..the stay was great..will come back & hope more suprises from your hotel.

I stayed here for a couple of nights in January 2013. This is one of the higher end hotels in the bukit bintang area. Checking was efficient and problem free and my room was comfortable although probably not as well decorated as other higher end hotels I have stayed in. The lobby area is definitely one of the nicest I have been in as is the pool area which is set in a tropical garden with the skyscrapers of KL all around. Drinks from the bar were expensive. The monorail station is right next to the hotel which makes it especially convenient for KLCC - it's in an area with great bars and places to eat.

Looking for a hotel with a central location? Look no further! Hotel Istana is an excellent choice. It took us less than 10 minutes to arrive in Pavilion shopping complex and an additional 10 minutes walk using the elevated air-conditioned walkway to KLCC. Aside from that, this hotel is a 5 minute walk to Changkat Bukit Bintang where all the bars are located. Our only complaint about this hotel is its room. Cracks can be noticed in the bathroom and there is no toothbrush provided for us. This hotel seriously needs to undergo a renovation!

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Our first room was smelly and the carpets and chairs were heavily stained. Second room was a bit better but carpets in rooms were old and dirty. The corridor carpets were cleaner. The foyer and reception area may be five star but the bedrooms on the 10th floor were not. Plug sockets have to be wedged for electrical appliances to work. Our window let in rain, shower was ok and beds were fine, the rooms are spacious and plain. The rooms start at delux which is there way of saying basic. Breakfast was excellent and all food was good. Staff were v good spart from a stuck up waitress in lobby who wouldnt let us sit down unless we bought a drink even though plenty of seats available. If i was wearing head gear i think she wouldnt have said a thing to us. Stuck up. I wouldnt stay here again in this 2 star hotel. Who ever rated this as a 5star must be blind. The rooms need new carpets and quick. Absoloutely rotten.
